Help the People of Türkiye and Northern Syria Devasted by the Earthquake

The United Church of Canada has launched a fundraising appeal to support the people of northern Syria and Türkiye in recovering from two powerful earthquakes that destroyed homes and led to enormous loss of lives.

The Middle East Council of Churches, a Mission & Service partner of The United Church of Canada, along with other members of ACT Alliance and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, are responding by supplying first aid, water, temporary shelters, food and other lifesaving support to people impacted by the earthquakes.

The United Church, as a member of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, has joined the Humanitarian Coalition in asking Canadians to give to help those impacted by the crisis. You can also help by writing to your Member of Parliament to ask the Canadian government to support lifting sanctions against Syria to facilitate full humanitarian access.

Please also see our Türkiye and Northern Syria Earthquake appeal digital slides for worship services.

Thank you for your generosity.

Your Generosity Matters: Your Generosity Revitalizes Languages

Take a moment to think about your favourite story. Now imagine that story being at risk of disappearing because it’s written in an endangered language. This is something that nine Elders from Haida Gwaii are passionately trying to change.
