New England Glow Updates
 
The Camp Wilmot Middle and High School Winter weekend is less than 2 weeks away and we are hoping to see many of you there! To register please follow the links below.  

 Kayla and I have been working hard to plan an amazing (and relaxing!) weekend for everyone. Here is a link to our tentative schedule (check back for updates as we get closer to the date!) We will not be providing supper on Friday evening but we will be having a snack before bed.  Friday arrival time is between 6 and 8 PM. Programming will start at 8 PM with some ice breakers!  Scholarships are available so please contact Kayla or myself for more information. Camp Wilmot Middle & High School Winter Weekend
Friday, Feb. 24th- Sunday the 26th
 
Join Youth Groups from across New England for a weekend of fellowship and fun hosted by Camp Wilmot and New England Glow! We'll gather for dinner Friday night and wrap up with Sunday breakfast in time for everyone to make it back to their respective churches for worship. In between we'll enjoy outdoor games, art activities and baking, bible study and plenty of sledding. Our theme for the weekend is "When Did We See You?" guided by Matthew 25 and the curriculum published by the PCUSA.

The cost of the weekend is $100 per youth. If cost is prohibitive, contact us as scholarships are available! Follow the links to register!

Lifelong Learning Courses at Boston University School of Theology

Boston University School of Theology is offering various lifelong learning courses, and the price for each is just $35, plus the cost of obtaining ant required course materials. "Darn It All: A Mending Spirituality Reflection Group for Helping Professionals" is a spirituality group exploring physical mending work and how we can embody mending in our professional lives. Starts on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:00 – 7:15pm EST. Participants will receive craft materials upon registration.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance's Response to the Earthquake in Syria and Turkey

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is providing emergency relief and short-term recovery in the impacted areas through long-standing partners in Syria, in addition to ACT Alliance members in Syria and Turkey, all of whom are already on the ground. PDA will remain active throughout the entire recovery process, accompanying our partners in the area as they determine long-term program needs and providing financial support for building and resilience.

Financial support for relief efforts can be designated to DR999999-ST earthquake. Gifts can be made online by clicking here, by phone at (800) 872-3283, or by check made payable to Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with “DR999999-ST Earthquake” written on the memo line and mailed to:

Board of Pensions: Assistance Program access expanded to serve more. Did you know that the Board has expanded access to the Assistance Program? This latest expansion, starting January 1, includes broadened eligibility, increased grant amounts, and two new grants so we may serve more with financial need. The Board offers 11 different types of grants. Employees can see if they qualify for a grant through the Assistance Program.

Presbyterian Historical Society: Each month of 2023, the Presbyterian Historical Society is bearing witness to the lives of African American leaders throughout the history of the PC(USA). February features a biography of Reverend Dr. James Hutten Costens, pastor of the Church of the Master Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia and former Dean of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary. Click here to read more about James.

Black Resistance Bible Study: A new seven-week PC(USA) Black resistance Bible study launched on February 1. The series is called “Models of Black Resistance Past and Present” and will stream on the RE&WIM Facebook page at 5 p.m. Eastern Time each Wednesday from February 1 through March 15.

Connect Throughout the Week: We have two opportunities during the week to connect for support and encouragement. The login information can be found in the Presbytery calendar on the website.
