Partnerships that Work

The success of Roberti Community House is predicated on listening to, working with and giving a voice to the people in the community.  All that we have accomplished, we’ve accomplished together!

Partnerships require collaboration and commitment.  Roberti Community House has many community partners that have allowed us to expand our services and start new ones by connecting to new people, new resources and new innovative ideas.  This has led to increased opportunities for RCH and its participants. There has long been strength in numbers and together, with YOU and our neighbors, we have been able to effectively advocate for the needs of the community.
Honoring Black History Month

RCH Afterschool Program celebrates Black History Month by reading books and participating in projects that highlight past and present, prominent people who influence change. Every week we highlight new people to help us understand issues of social justice through history and their relevance today. Mae Jemison, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson and Beyonce are some people we have learned about so far!

Community Health Workers

On February 4th we hosted our second vaccination event at RCH.  It was another successful collaboration with Highwood Public Library and Walgreens. Shingles, Flu, COVID, and Pneumonia vaccines were given as well as information on health supports and resources in the community. The turnout was great with over 100 community members attending!  Even though registration was encouraged, we were able to accept walk ins but had to turn away some at the end because of a shortage of vaccines. Because of this ongoing success with our community health outreach, we will be hosting another event in March at the community house.

Rosalind Franklin University continues to be a vital component in our efforts, partnering with us in pursuit of wellbeing for our community, as is Chicago Workers Collaborative. We are grateful for these partnerships that make a difference!

Grants from Illinois Department of Public Health , Highland Park Community Foundation, Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park bring communities throughout Lake County together to support our health.

February is Heart Health Month! Roberti Community House is teaming up with different organizations like Waukegan Public Library, Most Blessed Trinity, Blue Cross Blue Shield for our Healthy Heart series.
