Public Hearing on the Clyde Avenue Studio Residential Rental Units

The West Vancouver Chamber has been tracking the housing situation in our community over the past several years. A mix of different housing options is a key factor for many urban communities.
Please find below a letter from Rick Amantea, Vice President, Park Royal regarding the proposed Clyde Avenue Studio Residential Rental development. The Public Information session is February 22nd and the Public Hearing on this project is March 6th at City Hall.

Dear West Vancouver Chamber Members.

As you may be aware, we moving to a Public Hearing on the Clyde Avenue Studio Residential Rental Units on March 6th.  As business people, we know the challenges of hiring and retaining employees in West Vancouver and this proposal is a step in the right direction to provided more attainable housing for those who want to live in the community where they work.  The units are similar in size to studio apartments and although compact, they feature a full set of kitchen appliances, in-suite laundry, balconies, metered heating and air conditioning and amenity spaces superior many residential buildings in West Vancouver or on the North Shore.

There are 201 market rental units in this proposal, and we believe the placement of these units in a single building, close to public/active transportation and amenities, will appeal to many of those who work in West Vancouver.

We are sharing images of the amenities to show how we believe this will great be a great place to live for those who choose a more minimalistic and cost saving lifestyle but don’t want to compromise on live-ability.

We invite Chamber members to join us at the February 22, Public Information Meeting from 6-8pm at 967 Park Royal South (next to H&M) to learn more.  If you like what you see and believe, as we do, that now is the time to address this form of housing, please email Council registering your support.  If you require any additional information please feel free to contact Misti Mussatto by emailing her at mmussatto@parkroyal.ca

With our thanks and appreciation,

Rick Amantea, Vice President, Community Partnerships & Development
