A Heartfelt Expression of Gratitude and Love
Now that I have time to reflect on the Christmas Season, and all the decorations and lights have been put away, I find myself feeling so grateful and blessed by all the people who made it possible.
The list is long starting with Miss Kaime, aka Miss “K,” and the 8th grade students from St. Michael’s Academy who helped in bringing all the trees into the church, to all the decorators who volunteered to dress up the trees with lights and bulbs, and by placing poinsettias throughout the church, to the hanging of the red liturgical curtains, wreaths and trees, to the bows on the doors and the candle lights on the window sills, to the display of the Nativity scene, to the pizza and soda we enjoyed, to the cleaning of the church, and of course, to the ringing of the outside bells on Christmas day.
My gratitude is immense. I am thankful to each of you for the love expressed in your effort to make the Church beautiful for the birth of our Savior. I am also grateful to all of you who attended Mass and expressed your love to one another.
And, of course grateful to Father Quynh, the Deacons, altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, greeters, ushers, children and those in the different ministries who made Christmas possible for someone in need or homeless.
May God bless you throughout the New Year and fill you with His peace, joy, and much love.

The Eucharistic Congress is coming to Springfield March 4th!
This day is for you!

Burning of the Palms
Lent is rapidly drawing near.
The Spiritual Life Committee prayerfully requests a volunteering of your time and talent in preparation for the start of Lent with the Burning of the Palms, scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
The Spiritual Life Committee and Community Life Committee seek assistance in a variety of roles for this event. We are grateful for any time you are able to commit to our parish community. Please contact the rectory to be forwarded to the proper committee. Thank you for being a part of our parish family.
Good News. After a COVID hiatus, the Stations of the Cross and the Lenten Sacrificial Meals are back on Fridays during Lent.
Please consider volunteering along with your fellow parishioners.
The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Stations of the Cross will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Volunteer opportunities include set-up, clean-up, and preparation of meatless soup, salad and bread.
There are sign-up sheets at the parking lot entrance.
Yellow Bows for Easter

In preparation for the upcoming Easter, we are looking for a volunteer to make yellow bows for the Easter Wreaths.
Materials will be provided. It may sound premature, but time is flying!

Lenten Regulations, 2023
1. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat as well as days of fast, when only one full meal is allowed. On days of fast, two other meatless meals may be taken, according to one’s needs; but together they should not equal another full meal.
2. The other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat.
3. The obligation to abstain from meat begins at fourteen (14) years of age and does not cease.
4. The obligation to fast begins at eighteen (18) years of age and ends at fifty-nine (59) years of age.
5. Although the faithful may excuse themselves from fast and abstinence, for a just cause, there is an obligation to substitute another penance in its place.
No Catholics should lightly excuse themselves from these Lenten obligations.

With our electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make one-time contributions. We encourage you to set up a schedule of recurring contributions. It’s convenient for you and provides much-needed consistency for our church.
