ICH Homelessness and Workforce Systems Symposium - April 27
 

Good morning members of the Maryland Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH),As you know, in 2014, the ICH was established to examine statewide initiatives and recommend policy solutions to end homelessness in our State. Recognizing that having stable employment can make a significant difference for someone experiencing homelessness, the ICH launched a Workforce Committee in 2019 with the goal of ensuring those experiencing homelessness can become self-sufficient through reducing workforce barriers and increasing earning potential.

To hone in on the intersection between workforce and homeless services, our ICH Workforce Committee has planned a first-of-its kind event, The Maryland Homelessness and Workforce Systems Symposium, which will take place on April 27, 2023 at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson, Maryland. The day will be action-oriented, with a focus on bringing together stakeholders from the workforce development world and the homeless service provider system to facilitate information sharing, foster new relationships, and build capacity to support jobseekers experiencing housing instability in your local communities.

The event is capped at 150 attendees. We encourage all members of the ICH to register ASAP by clicking here. Please also help spread the word by sharing this email with peers who may share an interest in attending. If the event reaches capacity, we will create a waitlist. 

Who is the ideal representative? The symposium has been planned to support learning and capacity building for individuals with varying roles. We would welcome the participation of a local leader who is passionate about this topic, but similarly feel that a front-line worker could also benefit from attending the event. 

We are finalizing the speaker line-up for the agenda, but will stay in touch with all registrants to share exciting updates in the days to come.
