Lenten Book Study!
Tuesdays, 7:30 pm on Zoom starting on Tues., Feb. 28th
Are you interested in the biblical practice of story-telling? This will be a focus for our worship services during Lent... and will also be the subject of our Lenten book study!
We will be reading together Between the Listening and the Telling: How Stories Can Save Us by Mark Yaconelli. (Even better, Mr. Yaconelli will be joining us on Sunday, March 26th for an adult forum in the afternoon. More details on that will be forthcoming!)
If you would like to have the church purchase a book for you, please email Rev. Jill. The book is also readily available on Amazon; if you are able to purchase the book yourself, we would appreciate and graciously accept that gesture of a donation. (And please email Rev. Jill either way, so that we can get the Zoom link to you.)
Hope to see you then!
Rev. Jill

ABOUT OUR "GOOD TROUBLE" MOMENT (in worship)
“Speak up, speak out, get in the way. Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America,” John Lewis, Congressman from Alabama.
John Lewis marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960’s and fought until his death in 2020 for the civil rights of everyone in this country.
In our Good Trouble moments, we honor his memory by shining a light on racism and other forms of social injustice. We hope to educate, unsettle and inspire all of us to get into “good trouble.”
The Purple Pantry Box provides food and other necessities for our neighbors! Please contribute if you can!
The box is located at the sidewalk in front of our church and is in need of the following items:
Food items - Breakfast bars, cereal, cans/packages of tuna, tuna salad packs, peanuts in individual packaging, peanut butter crackers, protein bars, soups, canned pasta. Non-food items - tissues, individually wrapped toilet paper, small package of anti-bacterial wipes, toothbrush, travel-size toiletries: soap, toothpaste.
Please leave items in the PURPLE bin at the front door. Non-Perishable food items only, please!
SIGN-UP TO HOST COFFEE HOUR!
There is a sign-up sheet at the office door.
Please sign up to host!
You don't have to do it alone!
Ask someone to join you!
Thank you to the members of our church Council
for hosting throughout the past year!
Hours are somewhat flexible,
so we would ask that you kindly
call ahead, and would prefer
that appointments be made
whenever possible.
Thank you!
A Note from Rev. Jill:
My mom will be having knee replacement surgery on Monday, Feb 20th. I will still be available, but in lieu of in-person office hours, I will be working from her home that week, while she recovers. Please feel free to call me on my cell or email me if you need anything. Many thanks to PPR, and to all of you, for your understanding and flexibility!
