From the moment I was called to serve as your Pastor, I was profoundly grateful. Our relationship and partnership in faith and ministry have grown through the years I have been here with you. We have supported one another in precious ways, and for this I am thankful.
Today, I am announcing that after much prayer, I have accepted a call to serve as the Pastor of Plymouth, UCC, in Spring, TX. This call is a full-time position. Plymouth, UCC, is ten minutes from where we live. The decision to accept this call was not an easy one because you are all in my heart. I can truly say that we have become spiritual friends. Jesus said to his disciples, “I call you my friends.” In Christ, we are friends and will remain so.
In keeping with the thirty-day notice in the contract, my last Sunday at St. John’s will be March 5. Over the next few weeks, let us walk together to make this transition one of mutual affirmation and encouragement. I pray that the vital energies present in our congregation and the vibrant engagement in ministry will continue strong. God will lead the way. We place our trust in this faithful truth.
