MCEC Sprout Story: God's Reconciling Ministry for all Creation

Wendy Janzen, MCEC Eco Minister - Our shared home, planet Earth, is a miracle. I’ve known this intuitively since I was a child, growing up under the expansive skies of the Saskatchewan prairies. Stunning sunsets, stars, aurora borealis, long winter nights and long summer days with brilliantly clear skies, thunderstorms rolling in from a distance – all of this was a source of awe and a confirmation of the Psalmist’s words: the heavens are telling the glory of God! (Ps 19:1).

It is time to consider how God’s shalom extends to all creation.

Michel Monette, MCEC Catalyzer Minister - When I was called to do church planting, I was praying and seeking what God wanted from me. I read a few books and the two that stood out for me were Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Church” and Ray Bakke’s “Hope for the City.”

What I want to share with you is the approach we used in one of Montreal’s most impoverished neighbourhoods.

God’s solidarity with all who are vulnerable, victimized and traumatized serves to empower relational healing as well as transformational building of the “beloved community” and “peaceable kingdom”. Pastors, chaplains and congregational leaders are invited to a conversation with Marilyn Rudy-Froese and Doug Klassen about theology, leadership and accountability within Mennonite Church Canada and MCEC. This conversation will also be translated into French, please indicate if you require translation.

MCEC Workshop: From Common Law to Married Life

Pastors are often the first contact for people considering marriage. In this interactive workshop, you will hear the “top 10” considerations from a family law perspective regarding pre-marital arrangements, followed by theological and pastoral care considerations. There will be time to interact with each other, exchange learnings, ask questions and explore recourses.
