Outdoor soccer registration

It's time to think about outdoor footy for kids from U4 through U19. They must be registered by March 15. This button takes you to fees and the links to register in Community Soccer (administered by the Mill Woods Soccer Association):
Register for Soccer
You'll need a Bonnie Doon Community League membership. Did yours expire August 31, 2022?! You can buy/renew online.

Winter programming

Do your kids have their fill of skates & toboggans? Are they spending too much couch time, staring at their phones? We hope to start Move & Play nights in the hall for kids 10 and up. Reply with your preference for day of the week & time, and to suggest games & activities. Include your child's age(s). Thanks to Suzi Radke for organizing this!

Our next Film & Lunch takes place Thursday, February 16 at 10:30. This month we'll show the Oscar-nominated animated short, The Flying Sailor. More...

Bonnie Doon Rink is riding out yet another warm spell, but our keen band of volunteers is working to keep it clean and to flood when conditions allow!

Our Preschool Playgroup is open to members of any community league Tuesday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00. More...

Yoga with Kenzie Checknita runs Wednesday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30. More...

Rink Party, Sunday, February 19

Drop by Bonnie Doon Rink this Family Day Weekend. Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. We'll light the fire pit, open up the rink shack, make hot chocolate and play some tunes. Half the rink will be hockey-free, good for beginning skaters.

Move!

Bonnie Doon accrued over 100 hours of time during the second week of the Move For Mental Health Challenge 👍. Don't forget that any type of movement counts: walking, rolling, cycling, racquet sports, winter sports, etc! It's never too late to join us! Feel free to connect with BDCL on Strava at strava.com/clubs/BDCL (it's free!) or send your time to Jan at bike@bonniedoon.ca.

Ideas?

We know you have them! Maybe advocacy is your bag and you need meeting space or communications help. Perhaps you have an idea for a recreation program you'd like BDCL to offer. Reply to this email and share your vision!

Help! 😁

We sure could use some help, especially renting the hall and producing these newsletters (hopefully monthly, with fwer tpyos!). There are lots of ways, big & small to make a difference. Reply to this email to join us!

Neighbourhood News

Arts & Entertainment

Giselle Denis and Martin Kerr come to Bonnie Doon Hall, Friday, February 17. Giselle will create a unique painting for the winning bidder and Martin will charm us with his voice & guitar. Drinks and snacks will be for sale. Purchase tickets.

The organizers are the Bonnie Doon Community Refugee Sponsorship Association. Proceeds will help a Syrian refugee family move to Edmonton. This group has already helped a Syrian family move from a displaced persons camp in Iraq to Edmonton. They are separate from the BDCL but we hope you will consider helping by attending their fundraiser.
