2023 will be a critical election year for Madison County. Two School Board seats, two Board of Supervisors seats, Commonwealth's Attorney, Clerk of the Court, Sheriff, Treasurer, and Commissioner of the Revenue will all be on the local ballot in November, along with all 100 House of Delegates seats and all 40 State Senate seats.

After discussion at the January 28 meeting, we are setting a policy on membership dues.
"The County Committee will set a suggested annual membership dues rate of $25 for adults ages 26 and above and a suggested $10 annual membership dues rate for adults ages 18-25 retroactive to February 1, 2023. The fee will be assessed yearly each January 15 beginning in 2024. The Chair may grant individual waivers due to financial hardship.”
A Message From Annette
I’m honored to be your Chair of the Madison County Democratic Committee. I’m here to serve you, and I welcome your questions, comments and especially, your help. Because our committee is not me, and it’s not my fellow officers. It’s all of us.
My vision for 2023 is to increase our presence in Madison.
We participated in Madison Day last May helping neighbors in need with repairs to their homes. Please plan to participate with us on Saturday, May 6. We will have booths at the Madison County Fair from Wednesday, July 12 - Saturday, July 14 and at Taste of the Mountains on Saturday, September 2. We will take part in the Christmas Parade on Friday, December 1.
Consider attending our School Board, Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings.
The School Board meets the second Monday of every month at 7 pm at the high school.
The Board of Supervisors meets the second (4 PM) and fourth (6 PM Tuesdays of the month at the Administration Building, 414 N. Main St.
The Planning Commission meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 pm at the Administration Building.
My ongoing mission is to not only increase our membership, but to get our members more involved with the committee’s work. Here are some ways.
Join a Subcommittee
Finance - budget, fundraising
Social Events - happy hours, potlucks (one every other month)
Education - county issues, voter education, legislation in Richmond
Join Our Executive Committee
We have 8 members. There’s room for 2 more (Parliamentarian, Sergeant-at-Arms).
