Civil Rights Pilgrimage 

Applications due Monday February 13, 2023 | Travel: spring break

This spring break immersion experience will go to Memphis, TN and several locations in Mississippi to visit museums, churches, memorials, restaurants, and historic sites to gain a deeper understanding of the US Civil Rights Movement. Justice in Action Conference 

Register by Monday, February 17 | Conference: Saturday, February 25

The Justice in Action Conference is being held on Saturday, February 25,2023 from 9am - 2pm in the AMU. JIA is a one-day student-focused conference to explore your role in service, community and social change. The Justice in Action conference showcases the beauty and justice work in our community of Milwaukee and on campus and builds stronger relationships in the pursuit of a stronger sense of community. Be ready to meet new people, learn new skills and challenge your understanding of community engagement and justice. Register by February 17.

Student Peacemaking Fellowships 

Applications due Monday February 20, 2023 | Program: summer

Marquette undergraduate and graduate students can apply for up to $2,500 to deepen their understanding of nonviolence and social change by engaging in local or global peacemaking efforts. Funding is for summer projects. Learn more about the fellowship program.

We highly recommend students to meet with Chris Jeske to share their interest in a fellowship and to discuss their proposed project before completing the application.

Choose from one of the following project designs:

  • Create a self-designed, self-managed project
  • Intern with an established peacemaking or community organization
  • Conduct research independently or as part of a student-faculty partnership
  • Participate in a structured peace-building program or delegation

Islam in America Immersion Trip 

Applications due Monday February 27, 2023 | Travel: Easter break

This Easter break immersion experience is based in three Michigan cities: Dearborn, Detroit, and Hamtramck. Here we will visit mosques and cultural sites, as well as meet with scholars, religious leaders, politicians, and community organizers.
