Welcome to our latest newsletter.

We are now well into 2023 and continue to make strong progress together in a number of areas. Here we celebrate some of these achievements.

The figures for 2022 are now in!! We can confirm it really has been a record year for the London Care Record with over 12 million views in total. Well done to everyone involved in expanding the use of this vital tool for our frontline staff.

An example of this has been our care home pilot and here we hear from some of the managers involved who explain how the London Care Record is making a real difference to the care they are able to provide to their residents while also saving them time.

I am delighted that our latest Team OneLondon feature is about Beth Horsell from South West London ICS who has a key role in this pilot project.

In other developments the Urgent Care Plan will now be known as the London Universal Care Plan as work begins to expand its use to new care pathways. These are exciting times for this really important programme of work.

Last month we celebrated the vital role our nurses play in digital transformation hearing from two of London’s Chief Nursing Information Officers. Sarah Newcombe and Louise Hicks talk about the priorities for digital nursing in London in 2023 and top tips for nurses considering a move into this important field of work.

A note for your diaries. Next month sees the first ever Shared Care Record Summit taking place in Leeds. This is going to be a great opportunity to learn from colleagues across the country so please do sign up and join the OneLondon Team at the event.

I hope you find this issue of the Newsletter interesting and useful. If it has been forwarded to you by a colleague please do subscribe here so next time you receive it direct.

A record year for the London Care Record

The London Care Record was used over 12 million times by frontline health and care staff during 2022 helping them provide faster, safer and more effective care across the Capital and beyond.

Supporting care home staff

Care home staff involved in our pilot project are reporting that having access to the London Care Record is helping them provide more effective care to residents, saving them valuable time and helping them provide reassurance to relatives. Find out more here.

Introducing the Universal Care Plan

The Urgent Care Plan will be known as the London Universal Care Plan. This is because the journey has started to use the UCP’s technology to support pathways beyond urgent and End of Life care. You can find out more here about discussions that are now underway to use the new platform to digitise care plans in a whole range of areas such as asthma and sickle cell.

Digital Nursing in London

Last month we focused on the role of nurses in digital transformation. As Sarah Newcombe (CNIO at NHS England London Region and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital) said: “To succeed in Digital Transformation we need to engage the whole system and as nurses are the largest part of the workforce any successful change must involve them”. You can hear more from Sarah about the priorities ahead for Digital Nursing in London here.

Also Professor Louise Hicks (CNIO at Barts Health NHS Trust) gives her top tips for nurses considering a move into the digital transformation field.
