Second Harvest Food Bank Drive-thru Distribution:
We are looking for volunteers for the following
Saturday: February 25, 9am-12pm

Responding to the devastation from the recent flooding, Second Harvest is operating a drive-thru food distribution in the parking lot at our Watsonville Warehouse (at the corner of West Beach Street and Ohlone Parkway). Help us direct cars, register participants, and load food into cars! The food distribution will run from 9am-12pm. We ask that volunteers arrive between 8am-8:30 to get setup and oriented prior to the distribution starting. Please plan on staying until 1:00 to help with clean up. To receive the annual report please email me your agency name and email so I can add you to the 211 email list. I also send unmet needs and quarterly reports. Please go to www.211santacruzcounty.org 
to look up your agency and feel free to let me know if any changes need to be made.


Our 211/United Way will focus on growing our list of local programs/services that address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)-related toxic stressors. Low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to Santa Cruz County businesses, incl. NONPROFITS and residents as a result of President Biden’s major disaster declaration. The declaration covers Santa Cruz county due to the severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides that began Dec. 27, 2022. Please see more information and share broadly.

Beginning on 12/30/22 the County suffered widespread flooding and damage through a series of significant storms. The EOC is activated to help protect the life and safety of county residents and the community, including through sheltering, disaster services and support to local agencies. OR3 was created in 2020 to improve our community’s emergency response, elevate our disaster awareness, and prepare for increases in extreme weather due to climate change - beyond traditional emergency operations to create a full-service division to help our community prepare for disasters, respond during emergencies, and assist with recovery.
