Highland Park Water and Wastewater Improvements Project

Unexpected Water Outage for Some Residents on March 2

Construction is in progress on the Highland Park Water and Wastewater Improvements Phase 2 project. The crew is working along Crestway Drive this week. During the construction this morning near 4610 Crestway, the crew inadvertently hit a water service causing an outage to some residents. We are currently working to perform the required repair work and water is expected to be restored around 3pm today.

This unexpected water outage is affecting the customers along Balcones Drive from Big Bend to Madrona Drive; Perry Lane from Balcones to Shadow Lane; Crestway Drive from Perry Lane to Laurel Canyon Drive and Shadow Lane.

Please observe traffic/detour signs and use caution in the construction area.

If you have any questions or concerns during the construction, please feel free to reach out to any of the contacts below.

Project Overview
The Highland Park Water & Wastewater Improvement Project is constructing a second water line to feed into the area. The project runs about three miles from Far West Blvd. to Crestway Dr. with much of the work being done along Balcones Drive.

Water line breaks are well documented in this area, and the existing 12-inch line is a dead-end and not connected or looped with other water lines. The new 16-inch line will improve water service and fire protection in the area and allow for the decommissioning of an antiquated pump station and reservoir located on Ridge Oak Drive.
