Words from Father Ed

Time flies! We are about to go into week 2 of Lent, so we are looking forward to Holy Week and Eucharist. Many details soon, but plan on regular Episcopal worship services at St Patrick's Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. We have been invited to join other nearby Russian River Deanery congregations for a grand Easter Vigil service on Saturday night, April 8th at Incarnation, Santa Rosa.
Meanwhile, other plans are also unfolding. On March 16th we can visit The Carmelite Monastery in Oakville and that same day, March 16th, will be our next Vestry meeting.
The Vestry will then be attending a workshop with Bishop Megan and other vestries on Saturday, March 25th in St. Helena and then Bishop Megan will visit St. Patrick's on Sunday, March 26th.
Please put these important events on your personal calendars and check the Grapevine for all the other activities.

Have a faithful and Holy Lent!

In Christ,
Ed+

Food Bank Distribution
Eleanor Albon and her Team were back again for the St Patrick's Food Distribution! We are so thankful St Patrick's can allow space for the Food Bank to giveaway food and we are especially thankful for Eleanor who has gathered volunteers to distribute food and has kept this ministry alive within our community! Below is her thankful recap!

Dear All,

Thank you to Lynn/Chris, Susan, Natalie/Olivia, emergency sub Erin, driver Tommy and our ever faithful rep Arturo!
47 households/161 individuals received food in St Pat's parking lot tonight!

This was our first Monday night distribution.  It is a challenge in our 3 year routine of 1st and 3rd Tuesdays to now come on 2nd and 4th Mondays!  Change is a challenge!

"Neither rain, nor sleet nor snow...."  About 4:00 Arturo and I stood under the porch watching wind, rain and small sleet!  So we bundled up for the next storm!   Food was placed under the porch covering, creating a crowded situation.   Yet, our faithful and creative volunteers made it all come together. Arturo had to create a double line so cars didn't back up onto hwy 12.  The "next storm" didn't happen, but we were ready should Mother Nature get finicky!

A funny note:  Sometimes at 5:59 a car comes.  Usually there only a few or no items left. Tonight, at 5:59, a small car came in with people in the front and back seats, needing food for 3 families!  We not only had some left of what REFB sent, but left-overs from the previous distribution.  We filled that small car!  I assume some left with food in their laps!

GOOD NEWS - We're going back to pre-covid procedures!  REFB will now ask clients to bring their own bags and walk up to collect food they will use.  Volunteers won't have to pre-package to distribute.  Instead, like in days of old, we'll stand behind items, telling clients how much of each item they may take!  Volunteers will still need to come about 4:30 to help set up, but not to package food items.

It seems that we're at last getting past the 3 years of covid procedures.  Praise the Lord!

Eleanor

How many types of Psalms are there?  What is the purpose of the Psalms?  Why are these Jewish prayers theologically relevant to Christians and to us individually? So many questions! So much to learn about the Psalms an from The Book of Psalms.
