Finding Magic & Marching Fourth!
Boca de Oro 2023 is Tomorrow
Click Here for all the Boca de Oro Information
Yesterday at our final prep meeting for Boca de Oro, we got word that Birch Park, one of our main hubs at the festival, will be closed because of flooding from the recent rains here in California. Because of that, we worked to move all the programming from that location to new spaces and venues.

Over the years, Boca de Oro has continued despite challenges like the pandemic, political shifts, changes in funding, or now even weather. But the goal is no different for the planning team as we seek to bring this amazing festival to the community. Tomorrow is a great day for it to take place, March 4th, as we March Fourth!

So check out all the opportunities to join us as we find magic in the ordinary.

Heartscape to Artscape
A Monthly Conversation from Adrienne Reedy and Convergence Church
March 5, 2023, 2pm PST / 5pm EST Online
This Sunday, March 5th join me and my friend Adrienne Reedy as she interviews me for "Heartscape to Artscape" through Convergence Church. It's an online conversational gathering designed to shape, sculpt, and mold the landscape of life through creative expression and conversation.

Visit the Convergence Website for Info and the Zoom Link
Adrienne Reedy is a recording gospel artist, worship leader, ordained pastor, conference/retreat speaker, discipleship leader and mentor, and visual artist who actively lives life where faith, art, and reconciliation intersect.

Although pastel painting is her preferred medium, Adrienne’s passion for art extends to iconography, drawing with pencil, ink, and watercolor. She finds joy in being an artist in multiple disciplines of music, visual art, and writing. Adrienne looks to bring that joy into all of her work. She offers a series of workshops and retreats to help people experience God through art and contemplative prayer.

Together with her husband, Steve, she consults with church leaders and the community at-large. As community organizers, they have worked in Fairfield County, Connecticut hosting monthly dinners to establish safe space for conversations about race in America. She is a reconciliation leader with Salter McNeil & Associates and is the host of Heartscape to Artscape with Convergence Church.
First Fruits: Creatively Responding to Scripture
March 6, 2023, 7pm | Saddleback Church Lake Forest
Please join me in the CoCreate Arts Center for First Fruits as we create in response to scripture.

No matter what your creative background is (writer, painter, guitarist, picture taker, prayer, dancer, DJ, or simply a doodler...), together we’ll look at a section of God’s word and create in response. In this season, we’re excited to seek the Lord and make from our unique shapes. Let’s be inspired or find rest by encountering God through his powerful Word and in our humble creativity.

Tomorrow, not only will Boca de Oro enliven Downtown Santa Ana, but the festival will lead right into the monthly DTSA ArtWalk. I'm excited to share that artists from Mariners Arts and Saddleback Visual Arts will be having a pop-up show at Mariners Santa Ana. Stop by to see the art from 6-8pm at the Ramona Building, 120 W. 5th St, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
