Cyclone Gabrielle in Hawkes Bay: CAN YOU HELP?

Presbyterian Minister Rev. Jill McDonald at St Andrew's in Hastings has started a great initiative called 'GenLend'. In which pumps, generators, bobcats, diggers etc are lent out to those still dealing with the aftermath of flooding.

 https://www.genlend.co.nz/

They have asked other parishes if they can help by donating equipment if they have any. They will arrange any collection, all distribution, operation maintenance and return of gear. Many of us will not have this type of machinery however, financial donations are also welcome.

First, in the witness to Jesus by the early Christians in the New Testament, they relied heavily on Old Testament “anticipations” of the coming Messiah. But second, Jesus did not fit those “anticipations” very well, such that a good deal of interpretive imagination was required in order to negotiate the connection between the anticipation and the actual bodily, historical reality of Jesus.

This Sunday

This Sunday we complete our 'Kingdom' series. We've tracked the Kingdom theme from Genesis through the Old Testament and now we look at the fulfillment of God's Kingdom movement: -Jesus Christ (anointed one). Let's talk about that...

Group Bible Study on a White Wood Table

Small Group Evo-2: Lent Studies

We had a good time last night with nine of us in person and 5 joining us online. What was very cool was the mixture of people across generations.

The aim of the group is to learn together, share together and pray together in a relaxed, informal setting!

This is not strictly a 'bible study' group and is more of a 'life group.' But I'm sure there'll be some animated bible discussion.

So if you're keen come prepared to share of yourselves, listen, learn and participate.

PLEASE NOTE ITS IMPORTANT FOR US TO KNOW YOU"RE COMING SO WE CAN JOIN YOU TO OUR FACEBOOK GROUP. AS WE DO 'HOMEWORK' EACH WEEK

STARTING BACK TUESDAY MARCH 13
SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS

-Updates: A meeting is being set up with Auckland Council Heritage. They are open to hear what we are thinking but giving an air of reluctance for development. There is some persuading to do. Please pray!

-Stage 2.1 (southern wall and steeple) has been submitted to Northern Presbytery and has been accepted.

-Lotteries have 99% given clearance for us to use the $300, 000 for stage 2.1

Please pray:

1) That God's will be done

2) That Auckland Council, Presbytery and the Presbyterian Property Trustee's all give swift permission for the sub-division/ sub-lease of land.

3) That we find the right agent and purchaser/ lease holder in a timely and well organised fashion

4)  Something miraculous and/ or ingenious happens to bring everything together easily.

In all of this, it's important to realise that this is a building. God's Kingdom is not contained by buildings and is not limited by them. Let's trust that what God wills is what happens.
