FROM THE OFFICE

This newsletter will be the last one coming form the MailChimp platform.  We do not know yet what platform the district will be having us use, but we wanted to let you know their will be a lag time in our following bulletin.  Please make sure you read over your classroom newsletter to keep current on what is happening at the school.

CMAS testing will be taking place April 10th through the 17th for grades three through five.  Fifth grade will also test on April 18th through the 20th.  We ask that any appointments be scheduled outside of this window as students perform better when they are with their peers.  More details will follow in future bulletins and classroom newsletters.

HIGHLANDS NATIONAL ANTHEM  PERFORMANCE AT THE ROCKIES GAME!
Our Highlands 4th and 5th grade choir has been invited to sing the National Anthem on the field at a Colorado Rockies game again this year!  It is an honor to be invited to perform and we would love to have a large group at the game to support our awesome choir!  The game is the night before the May Late Start...a perfect night to stay out a bit late!  It is Tuesday, May 2nd vs the Milwaukee Brewers.  The game starts at 6:40, but the anthem is usually about 20 minutes before the actual start of the game!  I have set aside a large group of tickets so that we can all sit together.  Tickets are available for $20 through this link https://www.mlb.com/rockies/tickets/specials/national-anthem.  The link brings you to a main page for all of the anthem performances...choose the month of May and Highlands is the first school listed.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns at ordway_jennifer@svvsd.org.  Looking forward to a great night for our amazing Highlands Elementary!  Here is a promotional flyer created for us...feel free to share with friends and family!
