 The 2023 Board of Directors election is underway. All GVR members in good standing should have received an invitation to vote (and a voter code) both in their USPS mail boxes and in their email inboxes. Some of those emails landed in junk mail folders, so check there if you haven't seen it. Access the online voting platform easily from the homepage at GVREC.org.

 Short-notice partial closure at Desert Hills: The Auditorium and Room B will close on Monday, March 6. The GVR Singles Club meet-up has been moved to the Anza Room at Santa Rita Springs. Furthermore, THERE WILL BE NO HOT WATER service to the entire center on Monday, March 6. The pool and spa will not be affected, but THERE WILL BE NO HOT WATER IN THE DESERT HILLS SHOWERS ON MONDAY.  If hot water service is restored before closing, we will make an announcement on Facebook, HERE.

 Darts (soft-tip) is now available at Del Sol Clubhouse! Open 6am-6pm, seven days a week. 3355 S. Camino Del Sol.

  The GVR yard sale is back! March 24, 7am, West Center loading dock. As GVR puts equipment and furniture out to pasture, it has been traditionally offered to members and community groups through a yard sale. Expect to see familiar tables and chairs, used but functioning computers, desks, exercise mats, etc. All proceeds are donated to GVR Foundation's MAP fund, helping members in need to pay their annual GVR dues.

 GVR is HIRING a full-time Finance Assistant and an HR Director. Competitive salary, medical, dental, vision, vacation pay, 401k match, and an annual GVR dues waiver. Click HERE to view all open positions and apply.

 The GVR Needle-Arts Club Did you meet us at the Arts and Crafts Festival?  Were you thinking that you would like to meet us again? The club meets at Casa Paloma I on Wednesday, March 8, 2pm. See you there!

 The GVR Artisans' Shop Spring Fling Courtyard Gift Sale is at Desert Hills on Saturday, March 18, 10am-2 pm.  This will be a great time for snowbirds to get those special gifts to take back home. Complimentary coffee and cookies will be served.
 

 The GVR Hunting and Fishing Club invites all GVR members to the Annual Spring Fling dinner, Wednesday, March 15 at Las Campanas, 4-6:30pm.  All-you-can-eat pizza and salad, with complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and water. $15 per person, payable at the door.  The GVR Bocce Club 2023 tournament is a free, fun event open to everyone: Canoa Hills, March 20-24 from 8am-1pm. The 2023 Voter Information Pamphlet published in the February GVR Now! continues to be available at any Customer Service Desk. It is also available online HERE where you can find more information about the 2023 GVR Election, including video recorded interviews with the candidates.

Watercolor Fun
LOCATION CHANGE: classes have been relocated to Las Campanas, Acacia Room

Join us for a fun time with watercolor. Whether experienced or not, you will learn new techniques along with the basics. Enjoy a stress-free environment with fun people and learn how to develop and refine your own painting style. The class will also introduce you to several non-traditional techniques and materials that are compatible with watercolor.

 GVR Saturday Night Dance Club hosts dances on the first and third Saturdays, October through April. "Dressy casual" - no shorts please. Open to the public. $10 for non-club members.  Canoa Hills, Saturday, March 4, 6pm-9pm with a free dance lesson (Rumba) at 6pm with DJ music from 6:30-9pm. 

The GVR Pickleball Club is having a demonstration of pickleball and then will give you a chance to try it out yourself. GVR Pickleball Center, Monday, March 6, 3-4pm. Pickleball paddles will be provided.  Please wear non-scuffing tennis shoes.  Space is limited, so email greenvalleypickleballclub@gmail.com to let the club know you are interested. 

 The GVR Computer Club presents Cutting the Cord - Watching TV (Legally) without Cable by Rob Truman from the Association of Personal Computers User Groups. Santa Rita Springs Anza Room, Tuesday, March 7, 1:30pm.  The club's monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm and are open to all GVR members.

 The GVR Cycling Club's next meeting is at East Center on Wednesday, March 8, 3 pm. Guest speaker, Kathy Stacken, is a prolific cyclist and President of the Green Valley Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers.

 The GVR Canine Club meeting is POSTPONED until Friday, March 10. Group Walk with Patricia and your dogs at Desert Meadows Park-Barrio Gardens from 12:45pm-1:00pm. Meeting from 1-2pm. Demonstration on how to build your own agility course at home. 

 The GVR Artisans' Shop Come to the Spring Fling Courtyard Gift Sale at Desert Hills on Saturday, March 18, 10 am-2 pm.  It's a great time for snowbirds to get those special gifts to take back home.  Enjoy complimentary coffee and cookies.


 The GVR New England Club is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner with entertainment by the Maguire Academy of Irish Dance. West Center, Saturday, March 18, 5:15pm, $25.  The GVR Artisans' Shop next Sweet Saturday is at West Center tomorrow, March 4, 10am-2pm. Enjoy free cookies while browsing through the many unique, hand-crafted items made by GVR members. Register for a terrific door prize - a basket filled with items donated by six of our members! Drawing for the winner will be held on March 31.
