Join Me in This Interview
with Master Artists
Albert Handell & Roberta Remy
Ramah, New Mexico

Dear <<First Name>>,

I try to avoid sending out newsletters that are just promotion, but I want to let you know about a special, four-day workshop in Santa Fe that's coming up in May.  Even if you've heard about it, please read on!

First, here's a video you will want to watch.  It's an interview done by Bluebird Studios – the host of my workshop – with me and master artists Albert Handell and Roberta Remy.  It's a fascinating interview in which we discuss the advantages of an "in-person" workshop as opposed to one held online; how we moved to New Mexico because of its unique light, subject matter and artistic community; and why you would want to take one of our workshops.  (By the way, you can still get $40 off my May 6-9 workshop with discount code MCJ40 through the end of February.  Go here for details.)

Although I've known Albert for many years, and he's both a dear friend and my mentor, Roberta is new to me.  During the interview, I learned that Albert and Roberta, a portrait and still life painter, have known each other literally for decades.  In fact, they studied together at the Art Students League of New York when they both were in their teens.

You can watch this 24-minute interview either in the window below or here on YouTube:  https://youtu.be/-QXNGm14VAU
While I've got your attention, I want to let you know that Sunday I will post the final article on my series of blog posts on color.  If you're a painter, you'll be interested in this series because I write about how I use the colors for plein air painting, as well as a little history and a bounty of images.  You can read the whole series here:  https://mchesleyjohnson.blogspot.com/search/label/My%20Palette

Finally, once the color series is done, I'll be sharing my "extreme makeovers" in another series.  If you've been keeping up with me on Instagram or Facebook, you'll have seen the original paintings and the makeovers I give them.  But in this blog series, I will give step-by-step elaborations on what I did to the paintings.  I'll be posting one painting a week.  You can watch for them on my blog:  http://mchesleyjohnson.blogspot.com/

That's all!  We've had a very snowy and cold winter, but the crocuses and daffodils are starting to push up, so spring can't be far away.
