7th March: Cyanotype
If you have never done any form of printmaking before, or think you don’t have a creative bone in your body, then this workshop is a fun and easy way to loosen up and to re-connect with your creative side.

Cyanotype is a simple photographic and printing process which creates beautiful blue images. This technique can be used in many ways and in this workshop, we will be stimulating our creative brains by creating images from a range of materials, textures, and found materials. Working with the sun as our UV light source we will explore cyanotypes (aka sun prints) on paper to create some unique seed packets.

14th March: Gel-plate Printing
Gel-plate printing is a very addictive process and is fun, easy and contagious!

Learn how to take both a planned and spontaneous approach to this printing method, working with an approach that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way with this process … and there is no such thing as a mistake. It is a playful and creative process with instant results.

This is a fun and easy way to loosen up and to re-connect with your creative side. By the time you finish this workshop you will be equipped with the skills to confidently print your own Gel-plate prints and be able to take these skills home and confidently print at home.
You will learn a range of techniques to create some unique seed packets.

21st March: Monotype Printing
A monotype is a hand-pulled art print, created with pigment alone (usually printmaking ink) applied to a smooth plate (usually metal, acrylic, Gel-plate, or glass) that is pressed against paper to transfer the still-wet pigments from the plate to the paper.

The root word ‘mono” means one, because you get a single print which results in a single, printed, original art image. Monotypes are usually created by applying printing ink (oil or water-based) to the non-porous surface and then the ink is removed from the surface with a rag, Q-tips, or brushes.

28th March: Collage
Explore the expressive potential of collage for producing both aesthetic imagery and storytelling.

Experiment with a variety of materials including paper, tissue paper, fabric, and found objects; and combine them by gluing them onto your base surface. Stimulate your creativity and explore the tentative or "trial and error" nature of the collage process as a means to discover and learn, and ultimately affirm, your unique and individual aesthetic assertions.

In this 2 hour workshop you will be guided through each step in the collage process, from preparing the paper to assembling the image into a personally inspired and uniquely created selection of seed packets collage.
