The Skyline Swim Club employment page is now open for application submissions. We are currently hiring for the following roles:

 

Pool Manager (minimum age 21)
Assistant Pool Manager (minimum age 18)
Lifeguard (minimum age 15)

Skyline Pool is currently hiring for lifeguards for the 2023 season! You must have a valid lifeguard certification by May 26, 2023. The pool is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and there are weekday, weekend, morning, afternoon and evening shifts available. This is the perfect summer job and a great way to support your community pool!
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies
  • Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
  • Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor
  • Complete records and reports
  • Participate in regular in-service training
  • Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance)
  • Front office and Snack Shack rotations daily
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid
  • Valid American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Through knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques
  • An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures
  • Leadership and public relations skills
  • Decision-making skills


Pool Managers:

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees and coordinates, training, scheduling, certification, and performance of employees of the facility; supervises the day-to-day activities of staff.
  • Oversees and coordinates the administration of the facility, to include scheduling of facility operations.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the pools, to include chemistry, climate control, cleanliness, and related maintenance.
  • Ensures that all appropriate water, environmental, health and safety standards are maintained; ensures pools are compliant with all local, state and national requirements and current on all necessary certifications required for operation.
  • Participates in and teaches aquatic and safety certification training sessions, as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains records of operational facility usage; monitors and maintains inventories of pool equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares statistical reports on a monthly basis and prepares data and narrative for inclusion in annual reports.
  • Represents the organization and promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of optimal swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards.
  • Knowledge of certification standards in area of specialty.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
