Play, education, and connections for Moms and growing families! Join us weekly for MomFit, Indoor Playground, Little Art, Tiny Tadpoles, and Sweet Peas. Activities vary from large motor play, support group, arts and crafts, playtime in the pool, and nutrition and snack making. Tiny Rec Play every weekday from 10am-11:30am for parents, babies, and toddlers. Expecting and new parents encouraged. Certified Lactation Counselor support available Tuesdays.
Get ready for Spring and bring your little one to play with toy duckies, race them down the slide, and dive for prizes. Please pre-register to guarantee your spot. Saturday, April 8th, 3:00-5:00pm. $10 per person.
This American Red Cross Blended Learning Class will teach you how to respond to emergencies and victims in and around water. Get ready for that summer job now! Internet access and pre-requisite swim are required. Ages: 15+. March 17-March 19, 9am-5pm Cost: $200 (Your cost could be $0; contact John at john.volk@cogs.us to find out more).
We offer both the American Red Cross and American Heart Association for those seeking CPR/AED training.

Athletics and Outdoor Recreation
Last month, we also hosted the CARA Basketball Skills Challenge. Several players from Glenwood Springs advanced to the State Competition to be held Saturday, April 8 at the Charles Whitlock Recreation Center in Lakewood. Congratulations to Rommel Mendoza (Boys 6/7), Zaydee Garcia (Girls 6/7), Jayden Molina (Boys 8/9), Winter Mack (Girls 8/9), Jeremiah Kelley (Boys 10/11), Adrianna Ortega (Girls 10/11), Jack Thornton (Boys 12/13), Hayden Picore (Girls 12/13).
Let the March Madness begin. We are offering a Men’s Basketball League that will be played on Sundays at the Community Center. Come enjoy the friendly confines of the Community Center gym while we wait for the snow to melt and take the Hoops outside. Registration will remain open through March 12. Our second season of NFL Flag will get underway in April. League games will be played in April and May and conclude before summer break starts. Teams competing in the spring can earn the right to compete against teams from around the region at the Denver Broncos regional in Denver on June 24. The 2023 Spring Softball season will begin in April with one new offering and three returning leagues. We will offer competitive coed on Monday evening, recreational coed on Tuesday evening, competitive men’s league on Thursday, and a new recreational men’s league on Friday evening. This Spring we are offering Coed Adult Kickball on Wednesday evenings at Two Rivers Park. This is a 5-week season beginning May 10 and concluding on June 7. This will be a fun league and a great way to spend a Wednesday evening. Relive your playground days and join us for our inaugural season of kickball. Registration closes May 1. Our mission for the City of Glenwood Springs Gear Library is to provide affordable access and encourage outdoor recreation. We feel outdoor recreation should be inclusive, accessible, and enjoyed by all. The Glenwood Springs Gear Library offers low-cost rental equipment to make outdoor recreation opportunities a possibility for everyone. Our Gear Library has a variety of outdoor gear for hiking, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, scenic mountain viewing, and more!

The Summer Youth Art Academy is a learning opportunity for youth and teens living in Glenwood Springs and beyond. Our team is delighted to announce the 2023 summer theme, Do What You Love! By choosing to do what you love this summer, you can bring joy to yourself, your community, and inspire others to be creative too.
Starting on June 5th, young artists can participate in workshops starring their favorite media or try something new, such as Clay Really Wheely Workshops, Let’s Get Printing, Adventures in Cartooning and Comics, Art, Music & Theater Camp, Fiber Frenzy, and Paper Mache Pets, and more, plus a new art and science workshop with the Aspen Center for Environmental Science. Every workshop is designed to help kids become their best selves. Don’t let your creative kids miss out. Register today.

Therapeutic Recreation
National Therapeutic Recreation (TR) month ended with us doing a successful collaboration with Annie, Arts Supervisor, and the Creativity Lab’s Inclusive Day of Art Play at the Community Art Center. Check out how much fun we had in the pictures below.
The Therapeutic Recreation (TR) fun is just beginning. Be on the lookout for more opportunities to socialize, play sports and enjoy the outdoors together as the weather starts to warm up.
