Prescott Valley Public Library is delighted to announce we were awarded two grants – Memory Kits and Citizen Science Kits. Memory Kits are for caregivers and family members caring for people living with dementia, memory loss, or cognitive impairment. Memory Kits are designed to trigger memories and stimulate conversation about life experiences. Each themed kit is specifically selected to spark memories, create conversations, and provide positive and engaging interactions between people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia related conditions and their caregivers. Kits also contain resources and supportive materials for caregivers. Memory Kits are designed for 3 different stages of memory loss - early, middle, and late stage.

Grant funds will also be used to create new Citizen Science Kits. Citizen science is collaborative research done by everyday people, anytime, anywhere, to help answer questions scientists can’t answer alone. Citizen Science kits holds everything needed to gather data for a specific citizen science project. Each kit includes a printed activity guide, helpful tips, and any specialized tools or materials needed to complete the project.

Look for these kits - coming soon!

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
