Project Peace and Safety
Community Conversation
March 4, 2023  Fellowship Hall  9:00 a.m.

You and interested members of the public are invited to participate in Project Peace and Safety community conversation hosted by Pastor David and facilitated by Tim Waters. The conversation involves a structured process to answer three questions:
  1. what are my worst fears about future peace and safety in Longmont? (which will then be set aside to focus on questions 2 and 3);
  2. what are my best hopes for future peace and safety in Longmont?; and
  3. what strategies should we consider for realizing our best hopes?
You’ll be asked to commit to at least one action after leaving the conversation to move the community toward our preferred future. Results of the conversation will be compiled with results of other Project Peace and Safety conversations into a report for consideration by every member, organization, and leader in the community.
February Food and Funds Drive For The Round Pantry

Thank you to everyone who donated food or funds for the Round Pantry in February!  We raised $3,830 in financial donations and 555 lbs. of donated food items.  Together that equals $4,773.50 in donations!  Thank you for supporting this amazing outreach and helping to end food insecurity for our friends and neighbors in Longmont.

What a blessing! Thanks for your caring!

Violence, Peace, and Jesus
Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary after worship, March 12-April 2

Violence—it’s roots are usually thought to be racial/ethnic, socio-economic, psychological/emotional, or geo-political.  If this is true, then why doesn’t some combination of education, laws, medicine, or war result in peace?  What if the root of violence in all its forms is, in fact, spiritual…and the path to peace is not through City Hall but through hearts and minds?

Join Pastor David as we seek to discover our responsibility as Christ-followers in achieving peace in our individual lives, our communities, and all creation.
We Are Invited

The Heart of Longmont would like to invite us to join them for the screening of "This is (NOT) Who We Are"  followed by a discussion with Co-Producer Katrina Miller.

A short synopsis of the documentary:

"Boulder, Colorado, prides itself on being beautiful, welcoming, and inclusive. However, in 2019, racially-charged and dangerous policing involving a Black university student made national news. The documentary film, This Is [Not] Who We Are, explores the gap between Boulder’s self-image and the more complex lived experiences—both historical and contemporary—of its Black citizens.
