Local Street Plowing Currently Underway in Tuesday Refuse Routes

February 28, 2023 (9 a.m.) –   At this time, plowing crews have headed into local streets following a long night of caring for major streets, state trunklines, and priority routes. (Those look pretty good today, but we'll continue to watch them and treat as appropriate.) Plowing has started with today (Tuesday) refuse routes, then will proceed to Wednesday, Thursday, etc. until all local streets are completed. It will be a slow, deliberate effort today to clear local streets, so your patience is seen and appreciated.

Reminders:
• We cannot provide even an approximate timeline as to when your street will be plowed; only the order in which areas are plowed.

• "Court bubbles" (cul-de-sacs) are plowed last for each cycle, as these areas require smaller equipment to adequately remove snow. We'll plow the straightaways first with a standard plow, then return to clear the court area as we near completion citywide.

•  Avoid parking in the street if possible to give crews room to clear the entire roadway.

•  Engineering would like residents to remember that snow cannot be placed in the public right-of-way, including a public street, sidewalk, or the outlawn where it creates a physical or visual obstruction. We love a good snow fort, but the only prize we have to give for a three-story outlawn snow fort is a letter from the City Attorney's office. Obviously not a prize worth winning.

We greatly appreciate residents' patience and understanding as our crews work hard to get this mess cleaned up. It may take us some time to get to your street, but we will be there. See you soon.

Residents are encouraged to follow the following channels for more frequent, interactive (and humorous!) snow plowing updates:

Additional progress updates may also be shared via email as needed.
