Dear Laurel Hall Families,
 
We are thrilled to announce that next week, March 7-10, will be the First Annual Laurel Hall Cultural Week. 
 
Each Day will feature a different theme or event.  We will need parent volunteers to help with in-classroom activities on Tuesday March 7 and Wednesday March 8.
 
Cultural week March 7th - 10th 

• 3/7- Cultural Foods Potluck (Volunteers Needed)
  • Parents & staff are asked to bring in foods representative of the cultures in each grade. This will be coordinated with the room parents in each class and take place during lunch.  This is a great way to earn service hours and share your cultural traditions!  Sign-ups per grade can be found here: https://signup.com/go/uVmekiq

 

• 3/8 - Culture Corner/Classroom Edition:
  • We are requesting 2-3 Parent speakers/volunteers to come into the classroom to discuss what their culture represents and answer questions from the students. Volunteers will be coordinated with teachers and room parents at the classroom level.  This is a great way to earn service hours!  Sign-ups can be found here:  https://signup.com/go/uVmekiq

 

• 3/9 - Rep Your Culture Day:
  • We encourage students and staff to wear clothes that show their culture – it may be traditional clothes, clothes that are the colors of their flag, or something to show where their family comes from, whether that's from another continent or right here in the US of A!

 

• 3/10 – Cultural Performance:
  • A Day with African Music: Performances by Makeda Tene and the Ballet Djelia Kona. Parents are invited to come watch the performances.  Please join us in the Church Sanctuary at 1pm!
