Surfside festival gains a new wave of support

Thousands of music lovers, local artists and businesses will be cheering after the Caloundra Music Festival was secured for another three years to 2025.

The festival attracts fans and musicians from far and wide and injects more than $3 million into the local economy each year.

The festival continues to provide affordable, family-friendly entertainment to a broad demographic, performance opportunities for local artists and support for charities, venues, businesses, accommodation providers and schools. FULL STORY

Sunny Coast Showdown winners ‘shocked’ and ‘blown away’

A Sunshine Coast film and TV competition that uncovers the region’s best up-and-coming screenwriters and producers has announced its 2023 winners.

Each winner receives mentoring, support and funding to elevate their projects, produce them locally, and deliver the final product at the Sunny Coast Showdown showcase festival on June 24, 2023.

The Sunny Coast Showdown also gives locals the opportunity to showcase their talents nationally and globally. Read more.

Hot off the press and ready to land in the hands of soon-to-be visitors, the Sunshine Coast Insider's Guide is packed with local knowledge and insider tips.

 There are 50,000 copies of the Insider's Guide, sustainably produced, printed with vegetable-based inks on FSC Certified paper.

It will be available at Sunshine Coast Visitor Information Centres (VICs), Brisbane Domestic and International Airport terminals, and select state and interstate VICs. A digital version is also available via the Visit Sunshine Coast website here
How the Sunshine Coast is helping combat cyber-crime

The Sunshine Coast has been selected as the location for a new national organisation aimed at protecting the nation against cyber criminals.

The Critical Infrastructure – Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (CI-ISAC), featuring some of the nation’s best and brightest when it comes to “threat intelligence’’, has started operations from Maroochydore.

Under the guidance of CI-ISAC’s Chief Executive Officer David Sandell, the not-for-profit industry-based organisation provides comprehensive information and analysis advice to assist its membership base protect Australia’s most critical infrastructure. FULL STORY

Delivered by FAN and supported by Sunshine Coast Council, there’s an opportunity for FOUR Sunshine Coast businesses to exhibit at the Naturally Good Expo, Australia’s only trade show that’s 100% devoted to all things healthy, organic and natural.

Food Tech Tour…producing it better! 

Express your Interest in joining the Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN) and Sunshine Coast Council on a day tour to Brisbane, where you will have the opportunity to see and experience best practice operations firsthand at Lang’s Gourmet and the DAF Food Precinct. 

Date: March 28, 2023 (EOI close March 14). 

There will be time to network with fellow tour participants, and to enjoy informal discussions on processes, products, equipment, ingredients, and technologies.
