A message from the Manager

An increased focus on promoting Hospice in the Home, has contributed to a high volume of new referrals and a very busy start to the year. In January and February, our Support Team and volunteers, assisted ten new clients and their families.

Greater awareness of our free community service, has also led to more funding opportunities. In addition to the community support mentioned below, we received a $50,000 grant promised by the Victorian Labor Government if reelected. The one-off grant through the Department of Health will support the operation of Hospice in the Home and help ensure local people with a terminal or life-limiting illness have the option to be cared for at home.

As a local charity without recurrent government funding, we rely on government and philanthropic grants, donations and the generosity of the community, to fund our free community service and give people the opportunity to experience the comforts of home, family and friends in their final days.

Community Support

We were thrilled to receive the following donations recently…

  • The Southern Right Creative festival donated $3000 from the proceeds of their highly successful quilt show.

  • The Clinton Baulch Motor Group donated $2500 from the sale of cars in January.

  • The South West TAFE Community Chest donated $500

A big thank you to all these groups and the 12 individuals who made donations so far this year. We are so proud to be part of a compassionate community which acknowledges and supports people and families impacted by terminal and life-limiting illness.
