Meet a Team Member: Sam Lopez

We’re only as good as our team, and they’re pretty awesome. Whenever we bring on a new team member, we like to introduce them (see all of our past team member introductions here). This month, we’d like to introduce you to our new project manager, Samuel Lopez.

Are You at Risk of your Cyber Insurance Being Canceled?

Insurance companies are losing money insuring technology due to bad security practices. Are you and your business ready for the minimum items they will want you to have in place when insuring your business this year? This quiz will help you get prepared before you run out of time.

Tech Tip: Set Out of Office Reply in Outlook

Outlook LogoIf you’re going to be out of the office for a day or 12, it’d probably be a good idea to set an out-of-office automatic reply in Outlook so that folks who email you will know you’re not available. We’ve shown you how to set one in Teams but we made the assumption in that blog post that you knew how to set an out of office message in Outlook. We know what assuming does, so let’s just show you how to set a vacation/out-of-office auto reply. Thankfully, it’s a pretty easy process. Here’s how you do it.

Teams Will Soon Lower Your Hand

Teams LogoWe’ve all been in meetings (especially when the feature first came out) where folks are nicely using that hand-raising feature (instead of just trying to talk over everybody, which never works in a large Teams meeting). The hand-raising feature is great, and Teams is smart enough to sort the list of who raised their hands by who did it first, making it easier to call on whoever had their hand up first. But we've all seen it: The person will say what they have to say but then they never put their hand down after they’ve talked, so folks still think they have something to say. This feature will hopefully alleviate that annoyance.

Watch Out for Software Sales Scams

Scam Alert LogoWhile we’ve chatted about how software that’s super cheap is generally a scam, it bears repeating because we’ve had the question come up with a couple of our clients recently. If you see software for sale on Microsoft’s website, and then you find it online elsewhere for significantly cheaper, it’s likely a scam.

Better Performance (Hopefully) Coming Soon to Teams

Microsoft Teams is slowly becoming the de facto centralized communications hub for businesses. Its integrations into all sort of other Microsoft products is making it the starting point for most employees’ work days. From video calls, chats, file sharing, meetings, etc… It works pretty darn well. The problem? Its performance is awful and it sucks up a load of processor power and memory to run properly. Thankfully, that’s hopefully going to get better soon.
