“Once upon a time there was a railroad line
Don't ask where, brother, don't ask when
It was a road to hell - it was hard times
It was a world of gods and men
It's an old song, it’s an old tale from way back when,
It's an old song, but we're gonna sing it again”
Year 11 into 12 Options Evening
Next Tuesday we will be meeting with present Year 11s and prospective new Sixth formers, helping explore their A Level and BTec subjects for next year.
Chess Success
Some of the SAIntS Chess club players participated in the African World Schools Championship Qualifiers on 24th and 25th February 2023. Fifteen Malawian players competed against players from other African countries and only two Malawian players qualified. We are delighted that Shrey Kamath (Year 12) performed exceptionally well,  ranking number 2 in the Under 17 open section with 6.5/9 points. This means Shrey has qualified for World School Chess Championship to be held in Greece between 13th and 23rd April 2023. The SAIntS family joins the Chess Association of Malawi (CHESSAM) in congratulating Shrey for representing and putting Malawi on the map bwith his outstanding achievement in the championship qualifiers. The other participants in the qualifiers from SAIntS were Prince Mulli, Baruch Kaotcha, Marceau Loiseau and Kasinath Jayan; they all cherished the experience of competing against chess players from other African countries.

Co-curricular Clubs
Rugby Club

In rugby club this week students were practicing their rucking skills. Students have to learn to get off the ground as quickly as possible and to get into position to be able to compete for the ball. Students all worked hard despite the pouring rain. We are all looking forward to the matches at the end of March in Lilongwe.
