This afternoon (2nd March) we are holding our community pop-up event on Apollo Green, near Fairfields Primary School (MK11 4BA): 2.00-3.30pm. Come along and chat to Camille and Sue, Our Community Development Officers, and find out about volunteering opportunities and other activities in the local area, and to share any feedback too. We are busy planning more pop-up events, so look out for updates. In the meantime, you can get support through our online sessions (book on here).
As we are mentioning community engagement, our friends at the Open University are looking for young people living within the Woughton estates to take part in their community research as part of the CHILL (Children’s lives in changing places) project. See more here - please help to spread the word!
In Mental Health Alliance news, a monthly meeting of the Mental Health Alliance is taking place (online) next Thursday 9th March 4-6pm. This is a brilliant network of local groups working together to implement the Community Mental Health Transformation Plan for MK. We will be joined by Ukraine Appeal CIO to talk about the mental health needs of the Ukraine Refugee Community in MK and have general updates from the existing collaborative projects. These include the Primary Care Network, Complex Emotional Needs Peer Support Group and the Health Inequalities projects! We always welcome new groups - if you are interested in joining , please email networks@communityactionmk.org, so we can send you a joining link.
Here you can also find out about the BLMK (Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes) regional Mental Health Summit on Friday 31st March. A great opportunity to find out about the mental health services across the region as well as to share feedback / experiences. The event is open to people with lived experience to help mental health care planning and delivery across BLMK.
Lots of interesting Events are taking place next week to mark the International Women’s Day (8th March) and this year’s theme - #EmbracEquity. Voices of Women MK via the MK Doughnut Economics group have a drop-in at MK:U and Women in Enterprise MK have teamed up with MK Community Foundation to deliver an event at MK Theatre.
