Asynchronous Day Details (Friday, March 3)

Tomorrow will be an asynchronous day for ALL students at Cooper.  We begin with synchronous advisory from the regular start time - 8:00 to 8:20. All students should be sure to login, as advisory will count for attendance! In the morning, students can check their email for the list of advisor Google Meet links, which you can also see HERE.

Students will then do asynchronous assignments, meaning they work independently at home at their own pace. These may be a continuation of something they have already started in class or something new. Below are lists by grade of all assignments for every Cooper class:
All assignments are due at the next in-person class (next Monday, March 6).

In addition, we will be hosting conferences for select students on campus (these families have been notified), but otherwise the building will not be open.  If you have questions about asynchronous work, please email that teacher. If you have questions about anything else, please reach out by email to your child's advisor.

MAGIS @ Cooper - New Session!

Our next session of MAGIS is here! Students may continue in their current selection or select a new one (or more than one!) Please see the list and sign up details on the MAGIS @ Cooper page. The session options include:

MONDAYS
  • Dungeons & Dragons (Mr. Starnes)
  • Girls on the Run (with Community Coaches Ms. Heather and Ms. Jessica)
  • Homework Club (Ms. Maclay)
TUESDAYS
  • Knit/Crochet Circle (Ms. Cox)
  • Arabic (Ms. Hamid)*
WEDNESDAYS
  • Arabic (Ms. Hamid)*
THURSDAYS
  • Dungeons & Dragons (Mr. Starnes)
  • Girls on the Run (Ms. Cox and Ms. Helck)
  • Arabic (Ms. Hamid) *
  • Homework Club (Ms. Maclay)
*The Arabic MAGIS offering is considered a class, and therefore we ask that students commit to attending the entire session and sign up for at least two of the three days offered. While the class will not be graded, we do want the participants to take it seriously, even though it will take place afterschool.

Whether your child would like to continue in the option they were in last session or try something new (including for students new to MAGIS), please complete the registration form on our MAGIS page.

Questions? Please email Ms. Roberts (kroberts@latinpcs.org)

Wellness Wednesday - March 8 (half day)

We are planning our very first Wellness Day for our Cooper students! This tradition began at 2nd Street during the pandemic, when all students were doing virtual learning. We wanted to have a way to safely engage with our students to focus on individual wellbeing and community connection, so important to us at Latin - and so difficult to in our days of online school.

At our first Wellness Day, we will not have regular classes. Students will come to campus for the morning only (note: half day!) for their Arts Block selections. We will dismiss all students at 12:15, and there will not be MAGIS that day. The buses and shuttle to 2nd Street will run on a half day schedule.
