The Friends of Cherry Hinton St. Andrew's are hosting Rosemary Wheeler and Friends for another afternoon of entertainment followed by tea and homemade cakes in the Church Centre on Thursday March 16th at 2.30pm.  Tickets (including refreshments) are £5.  Call 01223 245949 or 01223 210724.  
The editorial team for the Cherry Hinton Newsletter are busy preparing the next edition and they are looking for local contributions.  They are especially keen to hear from anyone organising Coronation Events in Cherry Hinton, summer events and also updates on what groups are doing.  The information would be needed by Friday March 24th.  They are asking for 70 - 100 words for community group updates, 150 words for Coronation Event News, Summer Activities.  Photos encouraged. Contact kate@cherryhintonhub.org

Cherry Hinton Food Hub and Community Fridge @ St Andrew's

The team at St Andrew's have advised that they had their busiest day on Wednesday leaving their food stock low. If you are thinking about making a donation now is the time to do so.  Cans and packets of dry food are most welcome.  You are welcome to drop off on Food Hub day - Wednesdays between 2 and 4pm or call 01223 242954 for other drop off times.

If you live in Cambridge the City Council has a survey for you to consider filling in to tell them what you like or dislike about where you live; what makes you feel safe, happy and healthy; and what you would do to make it a better place to live, work and spend leisure time in. Everyone who completes the survey can opt in to be entered into a draw to win a £100 Love Cambridge voucher. More information here
Do you know someone who is a CHAMPION at volunteering? 
To celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, and to highlight the impactful work of ‘millions of unsung heroes’ across Britain, the RVS are launching the Coronation Champions Awards.  
Nominations for the awards are now OPEN.  (14+ years of age, in all communities, charities and community groups).  More information here
The Community Kickstart fund from Cambridge City Council is to fund local not for profit organisations, up to £300, to set up sport or physical activity sessions in the city to benefit the health and wellbeing of the community - adults and children.

Sun 12 Mar, 1.30-3.30pm at Cambridge Leper Chapel.

Your chance to see inside one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings, which is not usually open to the public. The Leper Chapel dates from 1125 when it was built as a place of worship for Lepers at an adjacent hospital. The building has 900 years of fascinating history, in that time being used as bar, warehouse, dwelling, for animals and a place of worship. This atmospheric building is grade I listed and contains architectural styles from several periods since 1125.  Volunteer guide available.  Free, donations appreciated.

Walks in Cambridge  
A short, out and back, walk along Worts Causeway, to The Beechwoods. the route follows a path flanked by hedges on both sides, filled with birds leading to the magnificent Beech trees on the hill above.  Before the walk, you might like to listen to this episode of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Ramblings’ with Clare Balding and Robert Macfarlane as they take this walk.  More information here
