Experience tea as a relationship.

Hi tea friends!

The approaching spring means it's almost graduation season here at Being Tea, for participants in our annual Teacher Training program. To graduate, each trainee will host a practice class or session, which our cohort observes and participates in. Seeing everyone's final project is always a highlight of the year for us, as we get to witness the diversity of what tea education and experiences can really look like.

One of our upcoming graduates is Freya Radlein, who founded and operated a tea business in Seattle, Washington - Snapdragon & Thistle - for five years. Freya is now in the process of creating something new and came to our teacher training program as a means of support while figuring out the road ahead. She recently shared this about her experience here:
"The beauty of this course is that Sooz offers guidance, support, and inspiration for her students to confidently create whatever it is they want their future in teaching tea to be.  As I traveled through the constantly thought-provoking modules, my idea of what I initially wanted to do evolved, and I realized there was a much deeper level to my possibilities with tea which was spiritual, to enhance the human connection.
As well as the practical and logistical elements of teacher training in tea, this program requires you to look inside yourself, to question your own beliefs, your values, and be open to changing the way you view the world.

Given the current climate and the immense amount of work we need to do to understand, be respectful of, inclusive, and create a thoughtful space for our fellow humans, the course content doubles up as a handbook for basic life and interactive skills.”

If you’re an aspiring tea educator / community facilitator, or a tea professional interested in developing deep teaching skills, come to our Open House this weekend to learn more about Being Tea Teacher Training.

Sunday, February 26, 12-1:30pm US central. This event will be held live on Zoom, with time for Q&A, as well. A recording is included for everyone who signs up.

Created in 2019, the Being Tea Teacher Training program is the first course in the tea industry that focuses entirely on the skills of effective, inclusive and compassionate teaching for tea. Our next cohort starts in September! Is this your year to join us?
