Hello all,
I am very happy to report that the Valentine’s Dinner/Dance and the monthly meeting went over well. There were 64 and 68 attendees, respectively. Returning members: Rich Bailey, Phil Biebel, Glenn Bytheway, Bill Clark, Jeremy Martinez, Andy Layne, Dave Hendrix, Marv Lewis, John Low, George McCall, Bruce Raye, Bill Santos. Welcome back!
Retired D.C. Tom Frazier made a guest appearance.
Condolences to the families of retirees, Acting Chief Tom Wheatley and
Sgt. Bruce Grigg.
Retired Lt. Bob Moir and PBA Sgt. At Arms for many years, came to the meeting with wife Geri. Thank you, Larry Reuter, for driving. Bob’s appearance gave us an opportunity to formally recognize his service and dedication to the PBA with the plaque, ‘Bob’s Corner’ that now hangs behind the bar.
Thank you, Rich Frazier, for commissioning the plaque. Needless to say, Bob was most appreciative and overwhelmed with the amount of support displayed by those in attendance and the good words spoken by Larry Lundberg and Steve Windisch.
Brian Hyland gave a recap of the San Jose Police Emerald Society recent events.
John Carr Jr. gave a summary of the Historical Society projects, including the acquisition of a former H-Car, the pre-runner of the M.E.R.G.E. (SWAT Unit).
Jim Spence provided information related to the Retirees Association.
Happy birthday to the members celebrating this month. Winners of the $25 birthday gift cards:
- Tony Destro (Olive Garden)
- Thang Le (Shell Gas)
- Mardy Johnson, (Dunkin Card)
Tony was present and picked his card, Mardy paid it forward and donated his card to the raffle!
Thang will be mailed his card.
