Invitation to our annual open meeting

We would love you to join us for the friends of forster park annual open meeting on Saturday 4th March, from 2 to 4pm at Goldsmiths Community Centre.

Come in from the cold, grab a hot drink and help us make plans for the park this year together - and find out how you can get involved as a Friend, volunteer, partner or committee member.

If you’re interested in any of the following, we would love to hear your thoughts and make connections:

1. Creating a safe, inclusive welcoming Older children’s play and basketball area - youth co-design / making space for teen girls, NCIL funded

2. Wellbeing and diversity - programme of activities and opportunities for local partners/groups, funded by local Coops

3. Nature play and outdoor learning area design consultation, funded by Phoenix

4. Rewilding forster park - active woodland and biodiversity management plan and community volunteering opportunities

Plus there will be cake, tea, chat and have a go at making a willow ❤️ heart.

Family Nature Sessions:
Tuesday 11th April, 10-12noon, Under 5s
Tuesday 11th April, 1-3pm, All ages

Healthy Walks
Tuesdays 10.30-11.30am
Join this friendly walking group for a walk to and around Forster Park. Meet 10.30 Goldsmiths Community Centre SE6 1QD or 10.45 at the Longhill Road entrance to the park. Free. All welcome!

Gardening Club
Weekly Volunteer Gardening sessions
Friday mornings, 10.30am-12.30pm.
Meet at the Centenary Sensory Garden (top edge of the playing field). The garden is inclusive for all volunteers and visitors. More info foforstermemorialpark@gmail.com or in the Forster Park Friends Facebook group.

Lewisham Lionhearts U12 and U14 football training
Saturdays 9.30-11.30am
Football training for 10-14 year old boys and girls (school years 5-9), all abilities welcome. www.fclewishamlionhearts.org

Saturdays 10am-12noon and Sundays 10am-12noon
Football club for boys and girls of mixed abilities and ages 3-14, with FA qualified coaching staff.

Cafe
The Frothy Coffee Hut is open at weekends from 9am to 4pm in the Pavilion, serving hot and cold drinks, food and ice creams. Table tennis bats available to borrow. @frothycoffeehut

Toilets
The toilets are open daily over the summer and at weekends in the winter in the Pavilion. A key to the disabled toilet and baby change facilities is available - just ask any of the cafe staff next to the toilets.
