UCET Teaching with Technology Grants CFP Now Open

Applications are now being accepted for the spring 2023 UCET Teaching with Technology Grant. If you have an idea for innovative teaching with technology, if you’re developing/teaching online and need more powerful equipment to create media or if you have other fabulous ideas you'd like to explore, complete the application form located on the UCET Tech Grants page. The grants are likely to be more competitive this semester so be sure to clearly indicate how the technology will improve or innovate your teaching. Submission deadline is March 20, 2023, at 5pm. Applicants will be notified of decisions by the second week of April . Contact Amy Pawlosky amypawlo@iusb.edu with questions.

Extended Deadline: Innovate Awards Collaborative Activities

IU Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching is extending the deadline for Collaborative Activities applications for Innovate Awards through March 3. Do you or your colleague(s) have an effective collaborative classroom activity? What does this activity look like, and how does it promote peer-to-peer engagement in addition to student learning? Anyone with the responsibility of teaching an undergraduate or graduate class at an IU campus or FACET Fort Wayne, regardless of status or rank, is eligible to apply. Applicants are not restricted to FACET members.

UCET MALT Grants

Active Learning Techniques are teaching strategies that force students out of the passive listening mode. By engaging in activities such as reflecting, debating, creating, and evaluating, students come to a deeper understanding of the subject matter and skills. High Impact Practices (such as internships, service learning, etc.) are active, but so are more simple strategies such as group discussion, clickers, and class debates. Materials for Active Learning Techniques (MALT) Grants purchase materials needed to use Active Learning Techniques in your classroom.  Requests can be for up to $500, and there is a rolling deadline.   Only purchases from Indiana University approved vendors will be considered.  Before filling out the application, check with UCET (UCET@iusb.edu) for this information.  Learn more about MALT Grants.
