Increasing Impact Webinar Series: HBCUs Peer-to-Peer - Resources to Anchor Economic Development Within HBCU Communities: Part I - March 8, 2023 - 1:00 PM EST

The Economic Development Cluster of the Federal Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Interagency Working Group is hosting part I of the Increasing Impact Webinar Series, Resources to Anchor Economic Development Within HBCU Communities, on March 8, 2023. This webinar will introduce the HBCU Economic Development Profiles Tool developed by the Economic Development Cluster, which provides insight into how HBCUs can:

  • Work with regional economic development ecosystems to successfully engage community leaders;
  • Leverage the involvement of the private sector; and
  • Establish a blueprint for equitable regional development and collaboration.

Join this webinar to learn about the tool and hear speakers from multiple federal agencies share insights about effective economic development strategies that can benefit HBCUs.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the featured speaker, Kimberly Ballard, Esq., President of Savannah State University, will discuss her institution’s economic development strategies and how they can work for other institutions in a fireside chat with Economic Development Cluster Co-Chair Nikita Pearson, Deputy to the Chairman for External Affairs and Director, Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The Economic Development Cluster is supported by a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Treasury.
