With so many documents that cross our desks, it's difficult to keep track of helpful resources. To help refresh your memory, we provided a list of Harvard Chan School-specific resources created and/or revised as of 2022. University Survey on NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy

The University's NIH DMS Policy working group invites you to share your thoughts on the policy and how the University can support data management and sharing in a 10-minute Harvard University DMS Policy Survey. They will utilize your responses to understand the policy’s effect on research at Harvard and to develop additional resources and services. They are committed to sharing the results of this survey anonymously, focusing on the best and most actionable responses. Please complete the survey by end of the day Tuesday, February 28.

Revised: Statement of Intent (SOI) Form

After receiving feedback from our administrators that the radio buttons on the Statement of Intent (SOI) Form were giving them issues, we replaced the radion buttons with check boxes. We hope this helps! 

Revised: Harvard Chan School Billing Agreement Process

The Harvard Chan School Billing Agreement Business Process has been updated to align with the recently updated University guidance and billing agreement templates. This business process is intended to provide School-specific guidance on the salary and training grant billing agreements process for sponsored awards. For further guidance, contact your Harvard Chan Office of Research Administration (ORA) representative. For questions on non-sponsored billing agreements, contact the office that oversees the source of funding or activity.

PCard is Now Live in Concur

PCard cardholders can now log into Concur and begin preparing your PCard Statement Report. Visit travel.harvard.edu/concur​​​​​​​ to review PCard-specific materials including Training Presentations, Quick Reference Guides, Tip Sheets, and FAQs.

NRSA Stipends, Tuition/Fees, and Other Budgetary Levels Effective for Fiscal Year 2023

NIH released NOT-OD-23-076 on February 3, 2023, to supersede NOT-OD-22-132 and establish stipend levels for fiscal year (FY) 2023 Kirschstein-NRSA awards for undergraduate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral trainees and fellows. See the Notice for more detailed information and FY 2023 stipend and institutional allowances.

GMAS Subagreement Module Overview for Central Office Research Admins 

Date: Ongoing

Description: This is the first of two on-line courses that are pre-requisites for the Central Office hands-on training. This self-paced course provides an overview of the new GMAS subagreement workflow, the subagreement dashboard, subagreement document management, and new communication functions in GMAS. The overview course is approximately 40 minutes in length and is divided into short videos to enable you to take the course in small increments to fit your schedule. The second on-line course for Central Administrators, which is a step-by-step demonstration course will be released shortly. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Neira.

Financial Award Management II: Analyzing Cost Principles (University-wide)

Date: Wednesday, March 1, 2023, 1:00PM - 3:00PM

Description: This course incorporates activities and case studies to help participants think through complex questions regarding the allowability of costs on federal awards and how non-compliance with cost principles can lead to audit findings. We will also consider how internal controls play a role in ensuring cost principles are applied when charging federal awards. Senior Grants Manager 
Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR)
Description: The SGM will work closely with researchers and other members of the Finance Team to design and prepare budgets, as well as assemble highly confidential, final grant proposals. The SGM will analyze past data in preparing projections, completing required forms for new grant proposals, and completing competitive renewals and continuations for a number of different sponsors (NIH, subcontractors, and corporations). The SGM will also be responsible for monitoring all deadlines and contacting the School’s Office of Sponsored Programs Administration to resolve any problems or issues that arise.
