Using Games to Teach: What You Can Convey Through Play

The Newest Course from CMU's Center for Learning Through Games and Simulation

During this six-week synchronous online course, you will study how games convey information—intentionally or unintentionally—and then learn to harness these powers for yourself. You will gain experience breaking down games about history, science, and more to give you a better understanding of how they teach. By the end of the course, you'll develop an idea for a game that can teach something you think others ought to learn!

Course launches March 6, 2023.
Course ends April 17, 2023.
The course runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Participation Grants Return for 2023

Help Make the Best Four Days in Gaming Even Better!

Participation Grants are back for Gen Con 2023! These grants are awarded to help gaming enthusiasts from historically underrepresented communities attend Gen Con Indy with a complimentary 4 day badge and a stipend ranging from $450 to $1000.

Application submissions open on March 3 and remain open through April 7. Recipients will be contacted by May 3.
