 A portion of the Del Sol Clubhouse has opened for drop-in billiards play. The space is open from 6am-6pm seven days a week. There are three tables set up along with all the necessary equipment. The restrooms are still under construction, so porta-potties and a hand-washing station are situated near the entrance to the building. Use your GVR card to activate the door. At member request, in the next week or two, darts will be offered, with foosball to follow (foosball ETA is dependent upon supply and shipping).

 A brief disruption to the water supply in some areas of Desert Hills is expected from 6am-9am on Monday morning. The lobby restrooms, lobby drinking fountain, and kitchen will be affected, Locker rooms, hobby shops, and the pool/spa will not be affected.

 The second and final Board Candidate Forum is scheduled for Monday, February 27, from 5-7pm at West Center. Wine and cheese will be offered. Candidates will answer your questions as well as those posed by the Nominations and Elections Committee.

 GVR is HIRING a full-time Finance Assistant and an HR Director. Competitive salary, medical, dental, vision, vacation pay, 401k match, and an annual GVR dues waiver. Click HERE to view all open positions and apply. 
Clubs and Community

 The GVR Canine Club Parks and Pooches, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, February 25 is POSTPONED due to high winds. New date: Friday, March 10 at Desert Meadows Park-Barrio Gardens. Group Walk with Patricia and your dogs from 12:45pm-1:00pm. Meeting from 1-2pm. Demonstration on how to build your own Agility Course at Home.

 The GVR Pickleball Club is having a demonstration of pickleball and then will give you a chance to try it out yourself. GVR Pickleball Center, Monday, March 6, 3-4pm. Pickleball paddles will be provided.  Please wear non-scuffing tennis shoes.  Space is limited, so email greenvalleypickleballclub@gmail.com to let the club know you are interested. 

 The GVR Computer Club presents Cutting the Cord - Watching TV (Legally) without Cable by Rob Truman from the Association of Personal Computers User Groups. Santa Rita Springs Anza Room, Tuesday, March 7, 1:30pm.  The club's monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm and are open to all GVR members.

 The GVR Glass Artists Club's sale of spring-themed fused glass, stained glass and mosaics for your yard or home is at Desert Hills Auditorium, Tuesday, March 14, 9am-1pm. You can also enjoy our Spring Showcase exhibit all month from March 3 - 29 in the Desert Hills lobby.

HIGHLIGHTED CLASSES

Southwest Acrylic Paintings
This class will focus on painting with acrylics on wood or a large canvas. Students will use primary colors of red, yellow and blue, black and white. Subjects may be realistic or southwest in nature. SUPPLIES: Bring 16" x 20" canvas , a variety of brush widths (wide to fine point), and acrylic paint: red, blue, yellow, black and white. Additional paint colors may also be brought. LOCATION CHANGE: these classes have been relocated to Casa Paloma II - Rec Room.

 GVR Saturday Night Dance Club hosts dances on the first and third Saturdays, October through April. "Dressy casual" - no shorts please. Open to the public. $10 for non-club members.  Canoa Hills, 6pm-9pm with a free dance lesson (Rumba) at 6pm with DJ music from 6:30-9pm.

 The GVR Arts and Crafts Association March meeting will be held at Desert Hills on Wednesday, March 1, 1pm.  The club will be working on Project LINUS: tracing fun patterns on muslin squares using light boxes. Refreshments will be served.  All GVR members are invited!

 The GVR Santa Rita Art League invites all GVR members to Canoa Hills lobby, Wednesday, March 1, 5-7pm for the club's 2023 Members’ Annual Exhibit art show reception. There are two judged art categories: realistic and non-realistic. The Exhibit will be available to view the entire month of March.

 The GVR Forum Club has weekly presentations that are mind-expanding, informative, and challenging. $2 annual fee. Desert Hills Auditorium, 9-10am. For the full upcoming schedule, click HERE

 The GVR Amigas Club Meet and Greets are the first Thursday of the month. The next meet is at Santa Rita Springs Anza Room, Thursday, March 2, 4- 5:30pm. For more Amigas info click HERE.

 The GVR Volleyball Club wallyball games are back. Las Campanas Racquetball Court, Tuesday & Thursday, 2-4pm. All GVR members are welcome.

 The GVR Artisans' Shop next Sweet Saturday is at West Center on Saturday, March 4. Enjoy free cookies while browsing through the many unique, hand-crafted items made by GVR members. Register for a terrific door prize - a basket filled with items donated by six of our members! Drawing for the winner will be held on March 31.  

 Star Dazzle Stargaze, send a postcard to space, and enter to win 4 free passes to the Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium. Anamax Park - Field 4. Sahuarita, Saturday, February 25, 7-9pm. All ages. FREE.

 BAJA Sporting Club is about active senior men and women having fun playing softball and bowling. Next event: Mini Golf Tuesday, March 7 at Triple Play.  Registration 3pm.  $10/person. For more information click HERE
