WREDI Program
Our Workforce Development Program has had a busy year!
This school year, WREDI has delivered behavioral health curriculum presentations to 2,028 college and high school students in the greater Houston area.
We traveled from the heart of downtown Houston to Pasadena, to New Caney, over to Richmond, and everywhere in between. Our wide outreach is thanks to our WREDI Program Manager, Chelsey Gutierrez, and WREDI volunteers: Anita Anderson (The Women’s Home), Dr. Katherine Bacon (The Parris Foundation), and Ashley McFarland (Collective Action for Youth). Behavioral health curriculum presentations will continue through mid-March. Please contact wredi@nbhp.org if you would like to schedule a presentation for your students.
The application for our summer externship program for high school and college students is now open. The externship program exposes high school and college students to the field of behavioral health by placing them at various sites to observe, shadow, and engage with behavioral health professionals.
Contact Chelsey at cgutierrez@nbhp.org if your organization for more information about hosting students over the summer.
Our Spring Behavioral Health Internship and Practicum Fair was a success! We hosted 35 students and 11 organizations at The Harris Center. Our next Fair will be in September.
