Either way you WILL LOVE this beautiful course winding gently through old-growth trees with gorgeous river views, lots of shade, and a few small hills. The event is family-friendly, so register your family, and friends, or form a team! Hosted by Prince George Parks & Recreation, Riverside Regional Jail Authority, and FOLAR. Race administered by Tri-Cities Road Runners.

Proceeds benefit FOLAR & the Special Olympics.

Our annual spring river clean-up is a great opportunity for you and your friends or colleagues to spend one Saturday morning making a big difference for our wildlife, ecosystem, water quality, and overall cleanliness of our riverside parks.

National Public Health Week Mindfulness Walk - Join us along the Appomattox River for an evening of mindful walking, yoga, meditation, and connection at on Thursday, April 6, 2023 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate National Public Health Week. Mindful walking improves overall wellbeing, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, and helps to reduce stress. This activity is self-paced. There will be Mindfulness Ambassadors to help guide you through each station. Sponsored by: Crater Health District, Southside Trauma-Informed Community Network (Southside TICN) and Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR). Watch at these sites for more information.
