New podcast! Today we hear from Paul Green who has been funded by the Changing Futures programme to improve property standards in Plymouth's temporary accommodation. Specifically properties used by Plymouth City Council & the Alliance as accommodation provided to homeless singles & families, until a permanent home can be found. 
In this podcast we hear from Gemma Doyle, who works at The Zone in Plymouth. She is the Partnership Development Coordinator for Youth Transitions. Part of her role is funded by Changing Futures to look into how young people, working with statutory & other services in Plymouth, experience the transition from youth to adult services.

The Changing Futures Volunteer Network Meetings are generating lots of valuable discussion around volunteering in the city. The last meeting (February 7th) discussed implementing training for volunteers across the city, and taking part in this years national Volunteers' Week. Interested? Get in touch with Kevin or May

Last month the Digital Inclusion Fund supported 15 people with Chromebooks and phones, and purchased a Chromebook for the HIPP service at Derriford to provide access to the internet for those admitted for short periods of time to receive treatment. 

If you are supporting anyone experiencing Multiple Disadvantage and accessing IT equipment and training would help them engage or access services or improve their current situation, please contact kristal.rocks@nhs.net for further information on accessing the fund.

PATH are offering Tenancy Training for staff. We have in person and 1 X online sessions available. If you would like to book on, please e-mail David.Ringwood@pathdevon.org 
Tuesday 14th March 10-1pm in person
Thursday 13th April 10-1pm in person
Monday 15th May 10-1pm online (Teams)

In these sessions we’ll cover:
  • Legal requirements of landlords
  • Legal obligations of tenants
  • Different types of eviction notices
  • Finding and securing private rented accommodation
  • Getting deposits, rent in advance and applying for benevolent funds
  • Finding furnishings, white goods and other local resources.

The Vulnerable Customer Network is a network consisting of Dept for Work & Pensions (DWP), invested partners, providers, charities & support agencies.  We all have a common interest in helping to support & improved the lives of the most vulnerable people in society.  Please complete the form within this link to add or update your contact details if you would like to start/continue to get invites to the VCN meetings and other DWP news & information.

Illegal Money Lending Team - Winter Newsletter

The Devon & Cornwall Furniture Reuse Project are launching 2 new exciting projects along with the free of charge furniture & free of charge Welcome Home Room upstairs (97 Union Street).  Funding is always a problem so they could really do with your support - please contact them to buy raffle tickets or to donate a prize perhaps? The proceeds will be used to buy items for vulnerable people to survive the cold weather.

The Changing Futures programme is a £64 million joint initiative by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The programme is for local organisations to work in partnership to better support those who experience multiple disadvantages, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system.
