THE OFFICIAL COMMUNITY OUTREACH NEWSLETTER

Did you know that people that are 50 years older and up are in more danger of dying of COVID-19? The Great news for Albuquerque and New Mexico, is that according to the CDC and NMDOH, COVID-19 cases and other respiratory illnesses are decreasing! Let's keep doing the good job Albuquerque, get the vaccine, keep washing your hands frequently, isolate if sick, and use the mask around people that may be sick or if you are sick. Let's keep protecting our community!

Join us in celebrating Black History Month!! Black History Month is an annual recognition of the history, achievements, and influence of the Black community. President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” While celebrating Black History Month is a great step, supporting and collaborating with Black-owned businesses and creators year-round will help to further foster a community committed to diversity and greater inclusion.

Let's support Black Owned Business!

Our actions usually speak louder than our words (or posts). This month, and every month, we want to invite you to go and support black owned businesses. There are plenty of options for all (restaurants, breweries, delicious desserts, facial and hair care, services for your car and many others).

Get your phone, look for “Black Owned Business', invite some friends, your date or your family  and let's show our care and support. We are a diverse city, we are a city that cares and supports our local business.
