COURSE SELECTIONS ARE ALMOST COMPLETE
Band members have been talking to band members, and the band director is talking to everybody. If you have been talking about course selections with your child, we hope that you are both in agreement that BAND should continue to be part of their future. If there's any question or hesitation, please reach out to Mr. Snyder for guidance. If there is a will, there is almost always a way to continue. Please see this message, recently sent by Mr. Snyder to the students in Schoology, to get a sense of our roles to empower students as they choose.

As you go to make your choices, perhaps the most important reason to stay in band that we did not talk about is that, in this class, you truly matter. Your presence (or absence) changes the nature of the rehearsal, and the direction the band takes in the future. That's not true of any other class, which will continue just fine without you. In band, you're not just a consumer, you are a contributor. You matter.

If there is anyone who is unsure of their place in this program, you are required to schedule a meeting with me during the lunch appointments. We will talk. Do not opt out of band without talking to the director first. He will find out and there will still be a conversation.

Seniors, you still have a role in all of this. Be wise and experienced guides for our people. There is always a way to stay, as you have proven. It's a matter of will.

Big buddies, this may be your last chance to influence the decision your little is making. Action > inaction. Reach out. Encourage. Offer your assistance.

Concert Band: if you are considering Wind Ensemble, do two things. One, fill out the application and turn it in. Two, schedule Concert Band for now. If you are selected for Wind Ensemble, I will send notice and your schedule will change. Please return all Wind Ensemble applications by Tuesday 2/21

BAND AIDES ON WEDNESDAYS!

Led by senior Sam Kleiman, Penncrest Band members are offering academic tutoring after school on Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 in the band room. All band members are encouraged to take advantage of the help of some of the most successful students at Penncrest, who also happen to be fellow band members! Our first session was Wednesday 2/15 and was a hit. More to follow!
