Tonight at 5 p.m. in Wait Chapel: Face to Face with Bryan Stevenson

Come hear from Bryan Stevenson, social justice activist, public interest lawyer and author of the bestselling book “Just Mercy,” also adapted to a feature film. You may attend the special student-only event for free with your Wake Forest ID. This event is hosted by Wake Forest University School of Medicine, School of Business, School of Law, School of Divinity, and the Program for Leadership & Character.

Important academic dates

  • For undergraduate students, Monday, Feb. 27 is the last day for first part-of-term classes. Tuesday, Feb. 28 is the first day for second part-of-term classes. See the Academic Services calendar for more dates.
  • Graduate and professional school students should consult the academic calendar for their school or program.
  • For undergraduate students, the Academic Program Change Application in WIN will be temporarily unavailable for students who do not have at least 87 earned hours starting Monday, Feb. 27 through Friday, March 24.

“Back Story” at the Ring Theatre Feb. 24-26

“Back Story” is the hilarious and moving story of the adventures of Ainsley and Ethan Belcher, a close brother and sister dealing with the disappearance of their father who, when they were small children, went on a fishing trip and never returned. The unique theatrical feature of “Back Story” is that its 19 scenes are written by 18 different playwrights, each of whom chose a specific moment in the story to expand upon, thus creating the back story of Ethan and Ainsley. Buy tickets. Showtimes are Feb. 24-25 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ring Theatre, Scales Fine Arts Center.

Spring Break calendar

Spring Break for undergraduates is March 4-12. Graduate and professional school students should check the academic calendar for their respective school or program for their Spring Break dates.

Reminder from Student Health Service to refill any needed prescriptions before Spring Break

As Spring Break approaches, the Student Health Service reminds all students to check to make sure you have adequate supplies of any prescription medication to last through the break. If you need a refill, please submit that request as soon as possible, especially for refills of psychiatric medications which may require an in-person visit to refill.

Spring Break safety tips

We want all students to have a fun — and safe — Spring Break. Please read these safety tips as you prepare for any Spring Break travel.

Secrest Artists Series: A Far Cry, March 2

Save the date and plan to join us for the Secrest Artists Series: A Far Cry on Thursday, March 2nd at 7:30 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall. Known for its high energy, chamber orchestra A Far Cry “brims with personality or, better, personalities, many and varied” (New York Times). Their concert will feature new works by Osvaldo Golijov, Jesse Montgomery, and Navajo composer Juantio Becenti, and their signature performance from memory of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. Click here to reserve seats using your WFU ID.

Save the date for Wakeville Arts Festival, April 1

Save the date for the Wakeville Arts Festival, Wake Forest’s first-ever student-led interdisciplinary arts festival with the goal of connecting the various arts departments at Wake to each other and with the rest of campus. 100+ students. 12+ disciplines. 1 day. This is your arts community. We can’t wait to see you there.

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It):

  • Senior Colloquium video and Senior Oration by Kaitlyn Fox — The 2023 Senior Colloquium was held in Pugh Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 1. You can watch the orations of the 10 finalists here, or read the winning Senior Oration by Kaitlyn Fox (’23), “Through My Lens,” which she read at Founders Day last week.
  • Attend a Housing Selection Info Session — We highly encourage undergraduate students to attend one of the Housing Selection Information Sessions to learn more about the process with our Residence Life and Housing staff. This is especially important for first-year students who have not gone through the housing selection process yet. Information sessions are listed below. Note: students of all years can attend any session.
    • Wednesday, March 1: Table Session from 12-2 p.m. in the Benson Center outside the Food Court — this is a time to stop by and ask any questions you have
    • Thursday, March 2: Information Session from 5-6 p.m. in the Angelou parlor
