Paid RESEARCH Summer Internships for CalTeach Students !


Dates: June 20 - August 11


For 8 weeks, you will work closely with a research team from a cutting edge UC Berkeley lab. With a focus on data science, you will be guided towards the completion of a research project while you collaborate with CalTeach faculty to develop new curricular units for your classroom!


Earn $6,300 for full-time research during the summer!


PLUS bonuses available for continued participation in professional development during the academic year, and for trying out your newly developed lessons while student teaching! Includes a budget for classroom materials.

CalTeach STEM Beyond Internship


Are you looking for a fun and hands-on internship this summer? Are you passionate about STEM and education? The CalTeach STEM Beyond Summer Internship partners with leading Bay Area non-profit organizations, such as the Cal Academy of Sciences, Exploratorium, Lawrence Hall of Science, Oakland Zoo, Chabot Space and Science Center, and more!

Through these programs, interns work with K–12 students, their families, museum educators and/or teachers in summer activities that focus on math, science, and engineering. Examples of work involved include collaborating with mentors and fellow interns to plan and facilitate math or science activities, develop and implement curriculum, lead lessons, and much more.

This is a paid internship of up to $2800, with the possibility of being hired by our partners to continue work through the academic year.

Summer Job Opportunity: Public Education Specialist


Calling all summer camp counselors who love science! And science educators who love summer camp! Apply for a summer job that you will love, at The Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley.


This position is an ideal opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students with a science-oriented mind and a relationship-oriented personality. In this position you will facilitate fun, engaging, and meaningful hands-on science learning for in-person camps at The Lawrence (May 22 – August 11, 2023).  It is a great opportunity for professional growth and you will gain valuable experience in teaching science, technology, engineering, and math.

  • Engage them in multiple modalities like engineering, design, coding, and art.

East Bay Consortium- Math Prospective Teachers, Pre-Collegiate Academy Program (PCA)


The East Bay Consortium is hiring Math Prospective Teachers to teach in the Pre-Collegiate Academy Program (PCA) during the Summer of 2023. We are looking for Math/Science majors or minors, who are consider becoming teachers, to co-teach with a math credentialed teacher, in our five-week summer academic program at Merritt College in Oakland from June 12th – July 21th. There is a $4,000 stipend for the five-weeks program.


We have 6 positions available, and application is due on April 28 or until filled.

Scholarship Opportunity: Golden State Teacher Grant Program — up to $20,000!


The Golden State Teacher Grant Program (GSTG) awards up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a professional preparation program approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and working towards earning their preliminary teaching or pupil personnel services credential.

Students must:

  • Complete their program and obtain their credential within 3 years from the first distribution of GSTG funds.

  • Commit to work at a priority school in California for 4 years within 8 years of completing their program.

The Voyager Scholarship for Public Service:

  • Up to $50,000 in financial aid: Students will receive up to $25,000 per year in “last dollar” financial aid for their junior and senior years of college.

  • Summer Voyage: Students will receive a $10,000 stipend and Airbnb credit to pursue a summer work-travel experience between their junior and senior year of college.

  • Fall Summit: Each fall, students will be invited to a summit to help define and inspire their public service journey.

  • Network of leaders: Throughout the program, students will be invited to an ongoing speaker series, giving them access to a network of leaders. This network of leaders will expose them to new areas of service and innovations happening in their fields. After graduation, they will join the Obama Foundation’s global community, providing them with Foundation resources and programming.

  • 10-year travel stipend: After graduation, Airbnb will provide the students with a $2,000 Airbnb travel credit every year for 10 years, totaling $20,000. This will allow students to continue to broaden their horizons and forge new connections throughout their public service careers.
